I think the whole thing is hilarious, top lad, makes a mockery of our security checks.
I see they've managed to interview him and his mum on the news this morning,he seems like a normal 11 year old,but mum is doing the angry 'what if' thing and saying he has learning difficulties. That title is given out a lot these days.
I just get that feeling she will be after some compensation for this? Or am I being too judgemental?

I thought exactly the same.I see they've managed to interview him and his mum on the news this morning,he seems like a normal 11 year old,but mum is doing the angry 'what if' thing and saying he has learning difficulties. That title is given out a lot these days.

I wonder how long it was before she noticed her son was missing while shopping.
My initial thoughts were I now have hope for society, if we keep producing children that far exceed the chav parents; all will be saved.

Aspergers / ADD I'm guessing? This is further proof that if you're disabled or a child then nobody will ask you any questions. You can go almost anywhere on crutches and security guards will wave you through. Fantastic story though, sounds like the kid is quite smart and I don't think this is the last we'll see of him.
From a dull and serious point of view questions do have to be asked about security. Terrorist organisations won't hesistate to put the bomb on the child you know.

Well, I've accidentally carried a leatherman on to a plane at LHR (post 9-11) - so it must be quite easy.
I once had my Gerber taken from me and placed in a box held by the Flight Engineer when flying out to Iraq on a military aircraft, to be handed back to me once landed. I then checked in the rest of my hand-luggage: one carry on bag and... one SA80 semi-automatic rifle. The RAF police didn't see the problem in taking the Gerber and leaving the rifle. The real icing on the cake in this story is the mother bleating to the media, deriding the airport staff and whining that she is disgusted they allowed him to get so far. Erm, hello, where the fk were you when he was hopping on a bus to the airport and boarding a plane? Try controlling your child you fat .
