No.

Paying for additional hold luggage increases the number of bags you can check in but has no effect on the combined weight. You are still liable for excess baggage if you exceed 15kg in total or whatever the allowance is, despite paying for additional bags.

I've stopped looking at them now as the answer was always the same- the booking fee is per person and each way, the credit card fee is enormous unless you have the very specific type of card that they use in their advertising, and if you want to put something in the hold there's another charge. I'm not saying it's impossible for them to be the cheapest- you've proved that they can be. I'd say your experience is the exception rather than the norm however.

I looked at flying to Barcelona with them a couple of years ago and ended up flying Easyjet as they were the same price as Ryanair but actually landed in Barcelona, rather than an hour down the coast...
