So Obama is in town (NATO Conference Newport)
Discussion
Just got back from Cardiff Bay. Really good atmosphere with all the police around, they really are being good fun. Its evidently a bit of a jolly for them. Most of them are posing for photos or helping move wheelchairs down stairs etc for the older folk.
Absolutely zero trouble, seems even the piss heads have a small amount of common sense!
Cardiff bay was absolutely packed!

So today we had snipers on the office roof, and Prince Charles visiting the boat that's below the windows! More to add to the not very productive week!
It's somewhat surprising that with all the security around cardiff that they just let us in the building with zero checks at all!
You don't happen to work in the Cardiff book repository do you It's somewhat surprising that with all the security around cardiff that they just let us in the building with zero checks at all!

The Obama motorcade passed through our little town in Wiltshire a little earlier, awesome sight, unbelievable amount of vehicles. The UK motorcycle police with them (I presume they were Brits, anyway) were driving incredibly aggressively, fun to watch!
Visited Stonehenge apparently.
Yeah,Saw them this morning about 11.45 around Charfield nr Bristol (not sure where they were going as its in the sticks and were driving away from the motorway ! as you said the Motorcycles were on a mission ,had to almost drive in the verge ! ..great to see all the same Visited Stonehenge apparently.
Felt a bit odd not being watched by scores of BIB on the way in this morning.
Took a trip down the Bay yesterday, took an hour to park and it crazy busy - although unlike say the 'Big Weekend' there wasn't hoards of idiots and rough looking teenagers causing problems - I don't suppose you'd get much crowd trouble with 100's of Police and MOD people milling about - it was a great atmosphere actually, the only real downside being it was so popular!
Cardiff seems back to normal, I assume Newport has returned to it's own version of normality and they've offered the Celtic Manor 'ring of steel' to Calais to subdue and control another group of people - it's an interesting juxtapose - it was bought to keep us 'normal people' away from the elite and now it's been handed down to keep the migrants away from us 'normal people'.
