They could spend a week brainstorming and it wouldn't change anything. Virtually everything they do to try and appease right wing voters has been a sham, so why would they be believed on any promises for the future?

The latest example is electric vehicles. Sunak made a great song and dance about pushing back the ban on ICE vehicles to 2035, but the sales targets remain for EV. Many car manufacturers are starting to indicate they may stop selling cars into the UK market. What is highly likely to happen is that the UK car industry is shut down to be replaced by cheap Chinese EVs.

Exactly. Manufacturers required to sell cars that people dont want because other regulations and the high cost of public charging get in the way. It was on this TV programme the other night.

Top marks to that photographer….
No way Rishi 'Rich' Sunak's advisors didn't spot it! They are trolling him. Brilliant, will be watching for more of the same.
The fact that people were reeled in by what is quite obviously a photoshop is even more brilliant!

Gaffes are a problem & they accumulate. In the past 48 hours, Sunak has managed to gift a bunch of Drowning street headlines, get photographed by an exit sign & in front of a dream Morrisons logo, refused to pay out on a charity bet & somehow associate himself with the Titanic & your ovrarchng take is it's a Photoshop you idiots?

Yeah, we know you genius,

I think the Moron one is a shop given the B3ta forum watermarking.

But this isn't so it's pretty easy to see how "a little to the left" could do it.

Trust me, I can live with your disdain. And I forgot Tory stooges planted at a warehouse Q&A and asking a bunch of Welsh brewers if they looking frward to the Euros. Still, at least day three should be quiet given he's taking it off for yet another reset.

Yeah, right.

I don't get the football criticism. Can football fans living in Wales not be looking forward to the Euros as a footballing spectacle? Did he specifically mention the Wales football team participating or something?

If you don't like the policy move towards EVs, you will be disappointing with Labour, as they are even more enthusiastic than the Conservatives.

Whilst I personally would be a little less aggressive on the current ZEV mandate rules, which start apply to this year, and historically EVs have been more expensive than regular petrol/diesel cars, that is changing.

The cost of batteries is the biggest component cost for an electric car; about 3 years ago they cost around $150/kWh. Which means a typical battery pack was costing well over £10k when you add everything together. However, costs are reducing fast, and current prices in China are now $47/kWh. At those prices, electric car will be *cheaper* to produce than their equivalent petrol/diesel cars.

Those historically high battery costs are the reason why electric cars cost a premium of 30-50% over their diesel counterpart - but in 1-2 years we will see many electric car being cheaper than the equivalent petrol or hybrid. That is going to cause a natural and fast increase in adoption rate imo. They still won't suit everyone immediately, but the charging network, which has improved massively over the last few years, will really then move forwards quickly as EVs start to become the preferred choice for many people, rather than first choice for company car drivers, which is the case at the moment.

And that is a good thing - because even putting aside 'net zero', it will improve the quality of air we breathe, which will benefit a lot of people.

If you still support the Tories and are a very happy person then your happiness must be derived from the misery of others being beaten down and marginalised and the country being ruined and pillaged from under us.

Don’t think I will try and like it to be honest.

I have stated that i wont be voting for any of them, although i appreciate I don't think it was in this thread.

So, none of them have my support at this present moment, and i really can't see that changing before the GE

The tribalist propaganda of 'misery' and 'beaten down' sits neatly with the other 'suckered in' comment.
