What a country.
On the one hand the head of HMRC is telling everyone to pay more VAT, and on the other government employees are dodging their own taxes.
I'm guessing Ed Lester never had student loans, but if he did this would also mean that his loan contributions would be drastically reduced to whatever low salary he's actually paying himself from his limited company.

Richard Bacon, MP, said: "We can't have one rule for those with tax advice and another for everyone else."
Isn't that sweet. As if.
I've just had some problems with tax. I've never sought advice before but now will. A friend running a small business said that his chap had saved him over half his tax bill in the first year and a bit more the following one, more than paying for the chap's initial bill. Despite being questioned on his return when he self assessed, once he handed it all over to a tax advisor they didn't bother despite much higher claims for allowances.
One rule for all. Yeah, right.
