Years ago, probably a decade, we were all going to die for phone mast induced mushy brains. People would phone up radio programmes from their mobile phones and say how bad it was that a mast was erected outside their brats school and it was going to microwave them and we should all think of the children.

So has everyones worst fears been met, was it a load of bullocks or has the design of the phone mast been changed so were are now only lightly grilled?

The media have moved on. There's more scary things now like rioters, muslims and inflation.

I'm alright, I've a tin foil hat, and one for my cat, it's the BSE that worries me.

Do the math,

BSE - (MC x MC) = PH

Something that I had to write as part of my current OU course:

I said:
A study is reported in full on the British Medical Journal website, (G J Rubin et al, 2006) using double blind tests of people who had reported a sensitivity to mobile phone electromagnetic signals compared with a control group with no reported sensitivity. The results showed that the group with a self diagnosed sensitivity were actually slightly more likely (63% compared to 60%) to complain of electromagnetic induced headaches during the "sham" exposure than during the exposure to a GSM signal. The report authors suggest that psychological factors, as opposed to physiological factors, were more important in causing any perceived effect from the radio signal.

British Medical Journal (BMJ 2006;332:886), "Are some people sensitive to mobile phone signals? Within participants double blind randomised provocation study." G J Rubin et al, April 2006. Link (Accessed 19th February 2012)
So essentially, it's pretty much nothing to worry about. Keeping a mobile phone glued to your ear for hours in a low strength signal area (so the phone has to keep seeking and handing over to other cells, which is when the heating effect is highest) is probably much more of a concern than the cell tower masts being sited nearby?
