'To save her marriage'. Hmm, doesn't that normally mean . . .

Probably recognised it does not get better from here on as an MP, but can do better elsewhere.

Possibly, or perhaps she got fed up of left wing nutters threatening her kids

As a relatively pretty, public face of the Tory party, she gets so much hate from the Guardianistas and ttters - it's unreal.

I wonder if Boris will stand...

Or Nigel Farrage.

Not enough time for her kids, but plenty of time to develop and launch ill-thought-out social media sites? OK then.

I suspect they would both want safer seats and they're both claiming to be happy doing what they're doing at the moment.

New York. America. She has profile thanks to Murdoch / News International Media Select Committee. The right contacts. It's a career move.

Boris yes. Farage doesn't have any safe seats though. Definitely worth a shot for him.

It's a marginal seat isn't it?

She had fewer than 2000 vote maj. over Labour (both in the 20,000 vote area). Lib/Dems were 3rd trailing by miles with BNP in 4th with about 2k votes. No other parties stood.
This will be a 2 horse race again... Labour will do everything to win this.

Very, Labour town with outlying conservative villages.

This was the result from May 2010.

CON 42.2
LAB 38.6
LD 14.5
BNP 4.7

No one with a big reputaiton (i.e. Boris or Farage) would chance it. Labour party need to take it to show their lead in the opinion polls isn't a mirage.

No thanks anyone who has taken class A drugs, especially not those who have no shame in openly talking about it.

She was hardly bragging about it though was she - said she condemned it, wished she'd never done it and it had left her with long-term medical problems. Frankly, if (very big if, I grant you!) a kid is going to listen to anyone about drugs ,is it going to be to the likes of me (never tried it) or to the likes of her (tried it and condemns it from experience)

I'd rather listen to someone that speaks from experience than some that's read about it in a book, wouldn't you?

Furthermore, it has no bearing on ones ability to do their job. Not that I'm condoning it, but I think it'd be silly to reject someone soley on the basis that they used to take drugs.

Lets hope she hasn't been doing it for long enough to get the pension, also as she signed up for four years can she pay the costs of the new election.
