Apparently every police officer should have a taser to defeat terrorism ........

Perhaps campaigning for more police on the streets might garner them more sympathy from the [law-abiding] general public, perhaps not.

Quick, use any excuse to drive through whatever s**e you want.. I thought earlier this year they needed to snoop on emails and so on to combat terrorism. Next week, they need to put a camera on every roof?!

I support the police but tasers against terrorists?

Apparently, a 9mm to the back of the neck is the best way (if they are holding a bomb trigger)

Terrorism must be at another "all time high" then?? Rita Coolidge never sang that one, from memory hehe .

Linked item is propoganda (and arguably shows how political the PolFed is [or trying to be]?) as to how we are all doomed, I'd strongly suggest. scratchchin

I can only laugh. Tasers to stop terrorists?!

I'll like to see the stats of the number of unarmed people killed by tasers a year after the roll out.

50 kV Tazer discharge into a bomb vest. What could possibly go wrong?

Plus If they are holding a trigger doesn't an electric shock cause muscle spams that close the fingers?

There's a higher probability of bladed attacks etc over here, but even so I don't think there needs to be a roll-out to all officers.

Tasers aren't the issue it's if they become the first resort rather than a (close to) last resort.

You couldn't pay me to be a police officer - arrive in a situation facing god knows what and you're armed with a stick and "Stop or I shall call for assistance on my radio".

The sticks are useless.

I don't think there will be a mass roll-out of Tasers.

If not to defeat terrorism all police officers should be issued Tasers to attack innocent blind men.

But the general public aren't allowed such things as they are highly dangerous offensive weapons, apparently.

They are if you smash someone in the skull with them. But that degree of force is very rarely required.

But in terms of hitting large muscle groups they're pretty useless.
