Question as the title ... can the same person contest a parliamentary seat on the same date as they are contesting a council seat?

Our local scumbag fascist BNP candidate is also contesting a council seat on May 6th. Not that I'd consider voting for a lunatic a minor fringe party but if there was a chance that he could be reported for breaking the law and removed from the running I would laugh and laugh and laugh I would be pleased that the law had been upheld.

My local Labour candidate is standing in my constituency as a prospective MP and in Enfield as a councillor. She lives in Enfield too, 64 miles away, yet her propaganda that came through the door said that she is committed to the constituency. Unfortunatly I only found this out the day after I ripped her a new one on my doorstep.

Yes you can. There was some bint from the rainbow party (or somesuch) last GE who stood in several seats. In one of them she managed lowest ever number of votes in a general election... Forget what but was single digits. Someone who isn't posting from their phone can check the details.
