It looks as though the French are going to expel the Roma gypsies after their recent clash with Police, road blocks on a major bridge and other criminal activities.

The BBC quote the Romanian government as saying.

"Romania has also expressed concern over the operation, saying it could lead to a rise in xenophobic sentiment."

That's the same Romanian government who held a referendum on joining the EU and promoted voting to join with the slogan "Vote yes and we can drive out all the thieving gypsies to England"

Never fear for the romanian gypsies being deported from France and Italy. I'm sure they will find a taxpayer funded refuge here.

We do a rally in France every year called the Laon Historique. Not a Roma in sight for the duration. Go to Laon the other 360 days of the year, they are fking everywhere! Doing their washing on roundabouts etc. And they do the same with the prostitutes. The Gendarnes just steam in and banish them so the town looks beautiful. Nothing wrong with a bit of heavy handedness from time to time.

I suspect the Beeb wouldn’t want people discussing it.

If our politicians are serious about restoring the UK economy then they will need to then emulate France by ridding ourselves of this problem. The cost of ignoring it is unsustainable in the current economic situation.

I just tried to get an idea of the size of the problem. So I spoke to a friend who works within the Justice system and is in a position to know.

The conversation staggered me.

Me. What percentage of crime that you see was committed by Pikey’s?

A. Do you mean cases involving caravan dwellers?

Me. Yes.

A. Well about 5% of the cases we prosecute.

Me. Cases you prosecute, OK what percentage of cases do you know who is guilty, but don’t get to Court?

A. Well you have to understand they’re very professional at defeating the Justice system. They always have alibis; there are always a very large number of other travellers perjuring themselves, claiming they were with the accused at the time of the offence. It’s very difficult to convince a Jury that all of them are lying.

Then there’s the fact of working out who they really are; multiple identities, witness intimidation, offenders who are bailed and disappear.
Then political correctness means we’re not supposed to be racist by collecting the data proving this.

Me. So ballpark figures?

A. Conservatively, at the very minimum, 40% of crime committed in the UK is committed by travellers, but probably closer to 60%. Then there’s secondary crime. Crime not actually committed by Pikey’s, but linked. Some of the Traveller families are involved in drug importation and distribution. An addict committing crimes to fuel a drug habit then that increases crime too.

Me. Are you saying that a tiny percentage of the UK population is responsible for between 40 and 60% of crime?
Well, I only deal with the more serious offences, but of the cases I see, yes.

So, a large amount of the Police and CPS budget goes on dealing with Pikey crime. The Court system and the Prison service somewhat less because of the low conviction rate.

The cost to the economy goes on and on. The cost of the crime itself, insurance claims and premiums is a small part of it.

The costs can be disproportionate. When Pikey’s stole the copper electrical cable over a bridge in Kent recently, a large area was without power for three days. Many Businesses were affected and total losses ran into six figures.

A neighbour recently found himself with a bill for thousands to clean up the mess after Pikey’s camped on his land. Councils frequently find themselves spending our taxes for the same problem.
For years we have listened to politicians promising to cut crime. None have delivered, yet those working within the Criminal Justice system can point the solution that would achieve more than any, perhaps all other measures.

If any politician claimed to be able to cut crime 40-60% we would laugh.

Yet if they had courage to grasp the nettle, forget political correctness and actually be tough on the causes of crime then this could be achieved and Billions more could saved than they propose now.

They want to save money on the Justice system without dealing with the cause of crime. If they do then we will all suffer.

Kicking all the pikeys out would never happen, the European Court of Human Rights would never allow it.

From the Beeb article.
Foreign ministry spokesman Bernard Valero told AFP that an EU directive "expressly allows for restrictions on the right to move freely for reasons of public order, public security and public health".

The French have already deported some. The Italians have come under fire for tackling the problem too.

If the law needs changing then so be it. If we have the major governments in Europe in agreement then this will come. The Court will have to be reformed to provide rights and justice for the majority, not to protect the criminals.

Typical, only the UK would play by the rules, due to the leftie guardian reading hand wringers legal industry, ready to rack up the legal aid £s. French and Italians, talk the talk, then do their own self-interest.

Hmmm... which would I prefer.

I wish we could/would get rid of them. Thieving dirty tax dodging scum. I said the word gypo in school and was called a racist by a teacher. PC bks.

They're travellers

Caravan dwellers

No, dirty, stealing, dishonest, tax dodging, squatting scum.

This opinion held by many from personal experience.

this week our council evicted a load from our local sports centre field.
It took 15 guys and a a couple of skip lorries to clear up the mess.
Human excriment everywhere, loads of domestic waste etc

It is believed that they had been charging people to take away their rubbish etc and then just dumped it where they were camping before moving on.

The real piss take was that 2 of them had brand new 10 plate Transits.

How did they pay for them, with no income?
If they have an income, they can pay Income Tax
If they have no income then the Van could be the Proceeds Of Crime and should be impounded.

I assume that must have paid cash.
Have you tried buying a car for cash?
Dealers won't take it, so why do they take cash from Pikeys?

I was watching the debate on France24 earlier, basically they have come over, set up on public land then tried to set up racketeering and prostitution with underage girls, the teenage lads have been asking businesses for protection money so the French are deporting them.

They said they can come back if they have means to support themselves.

We just give them planning permission in the nice field next to small villages.

Love it.

The French kick em out.

We spend £100m on making nice campsites for them to ruin once they get here.
