With the whole of the Middle East in turmoil and the Saudi elections imminent (no votes for women still though) are the cracks beginning to appear?

Those who have the power in Saudi Arabia, Sunni men, seem pretty content with life and are well taken care of by the Royal Family. There is not a large enough suppressed minority like in Bahrain and the people are not as poor as they are in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia etc so the chances of a 'revolution' seem very slim. So unless something is triggered off by the women then I doubt we'll see anything change soon.

Having said that, the current King won't live much longer and there is not really a stand out candidate to succeed him. One thing which could bring down the family there is in fighting much like the nepali royals. An angry young royal with an ak47 at a family gathering sure could spark off something big.

So if the saudi royals were to be brought down I think it will be from the inside as opposed to the outside.

Some coups have originated within the military so that's a possiblity also there is poverty in Saudi mainly amongst the Bedus but I can't see them organising themselves to do much
