This seems very worthwhile to me.

https://conservativepost.co.uk/rupert-lowe-launche...

With the government refusing to launch a national enquiry into rape gangs, MP Rupert Lowe is launching his own crowd funded investigation.

It is sad that this has to be done independently but perhaps the rot runs so deep that it needs an external body to investigate it.

Labour going to any length to shut this down.
Not even mentioned anywhere on the BBC website.

Labour governments are always revolting and this one has now reached a new low, remarkable even for them. So their values are now clear;

They target farmers
They target pensioners
They target school children
They target business owners and job creators

On the flip side they stand up for
Pakistani child rape gangs
Public sector workers
Train drivers
Themselves

Surely anyone who voted for them last year must now be asking themselves what on earth have they done? They have form on this with their links to PIE I think it was called.

Was there a thread on this in 2022 when the last government refused an enquiry?

There was a large thread on this topic recently as well, about the last inquiry findings and trying get those implemented first, and putting money and investment into local communities to deal with the issue about grooming gangs.

I heard Nandy on the radio today.
Labour have apparently made money available for enquiries but have left it up to the relevant local authorities to make the decision on whether to spend the money on enquiries or elsewhere.

She said it was far better to let those with “skin in the game” decide what to do.

Apart from the very unfortunate phrasing, people with skin in the game are exactly NOT the people who ought to be deciding this.

She and Jess Phillips always seemed to be the ‘nice’ face of Labour; seeming to have a caring side.

Now look at the state of them!

How does that help?

That's what I thought. Surely this should have happened years ago.

Well potentially rather than spending money on another inquiry, then that money would be used to invest in the local community to try and stop this from happening in the future.

Thought could be
More money for social services / social workers who tend to deal with these types of cases
Training for police / local leaders on how to spot grooming and report it

There was point Labour raised about changing law to so that any indications of grooming have to be reported to the police.

Indeed.

Including from Prof Alexis Jay who knows a thing or two about it.

Why would they?

It's fund-raising for a private venture that has no statutory footing / powers.

What are they going to do? Pay private investigators who have no powers / access to documents / people etc?

The same labour government that are trying to implement the findings of the last report? I mean the Tories could have done it but never bothered.

Given your recent post on another thread, you give me Alf Garnett vibes. All those bloody foreigners aye

What happened to the enquiry Farage was going to do a few months back? You don't hear much about that anymore, lost interest I presume?
