What Sentence?

Thief with previous 24 month (served 14) for threatening Aled Jones with machete being sentenced on June 17 after an attempt phone theft where he threatened to stab an actress in the face.

She fough thim off and kept it.

Needs 3 years. My guess 1. CCTV of incident.

Given that the (teenage) murderer of an 80-year-old dog walker was sentenced to 7 years for that a few days ago, three years seems rather unrealistic for this.

It's only wrongspeak if it's actually wrong, and stats are available for recorded crime and people's experiences of crime so you can find out if London has become increasingly dangerous or not, over whatever timescale you think is relevant.

Looking at this, it seems to not be true over the last year, but presumably if you started a time period during Covid it would look like it's going up, and maybe there are other time periods which would also show an increase. Interesting that it seems London is safer than England and Wales in general though.

Still lite, If you go out and assault someone and they die it should be murder.

For manslaughter, not murder.

Still lite the maximum sentance for manslaughter is life, if you assault someone randomly and they die that should be murder.

Good question. Lies, damn lies and statistics. It's used to measure the population during the working day. The City of London's workday population is 50 times more than the actual number of people who live there. Similarly, the working day population of London is far higher than the actual population. Obviously, it heavily distorts the crime figures to make London look better than it is.

Thousands of crimes are not even reported. And that is skewed in London favour ie you’re more likely to report crimes in small towns and villages than big cities. So the true crimes per 1000 in London is even worse than shown

Thanks for the explanation; I wonder how London compares with the rest of the country for nighttime crime? Presumably that would be a better comparison figure?
