What must that family be going through?
The same thing many hundreds of families go through monthly. It's quite incredible exactly how many people go missing each year and are never found. However, that's not to say I have no sympathy for the family in question.
To be frank, more young males go missing each year than young females IIRC BUT young pretty girls make better pictures and so get more news coverage. How often do you see a missing person poster for a butt ugly kid? It's quite disgraceful, but I feel my pessimissim is grounded on evidence.

NOT missing chef girl according to Police
Just what is so special about that missing chef girl? She was on the news every 20 minutes almost from the hour she was last seen.Is she some sort of famous person, or just like the hundred of other people who go missing every year, never to be seen again.
If it is the latter, why did she get so much air play?

Why should it make a difference if she's the former??If it is the latter, why did she get so much air play?
I expect if she had been on Big Brother we'd have news teams out there now scouring the country...

Jas And Jules whoever you three are? - whatever the reason any unexplained disappearance is worthy of investigation by whatever means necessary - there's some stupid, cynical comments on here these days.
There are two of us. Jas and Jules. However, I agree that if someone is missing then investigations are needed and as I said above, if it were my family I'd be hassling the media as well so the face was clear and well known to do as much as I could to get them back safely. However the question was why is this person in the news more than others, and I believe the answer to be clear - because she is pretty. It's a fault of the Press IMHO but it is the way it works AFAIK none-the-less in terms of this kind of coverage. The police however care not a jot whether the person is pretty or not and will do what they can to find them.

KH, what a pathetic post, she's very special to her parents and friends.
Suggestion to you - think a little more, post less and get out more.
Special to her family? Yes, as is probably every person who gets reported missing, but do they all get national coverage every hour to the degree she did? Suggestion to you - think a little more, post less and get out more.
No, they most ferkin' well didn't.
So no, my post is not the pathetic one dude!
