To be fair I don't think that the budget calculator is particularly good - it shows me being +- £500 up as a result of the budget.

In the interests of science, if you can arrange it, I am happy to put your hypothesis to the test.

OK, you check the above with Mrs Cole, I'll check the rest of her group (plus the Saturdays, for good measure and as a "control set") laugh

I think Mclovin has a point, the BBC certainly isn't what it used to be, dumbing down the nation, in line with it's pay masters requirements.

Who is the moron here? I would be quite happy if the BBC was made a private organisation and was forced to compete with other news organisations.

To me it is effectively a TV tax. Not necessarily a problem if the funded organisation is un-biased and fully independent.

But an organisation that uses the phrase 'Tories' in all its articles says it all to me.

The BBC is a bit like the government - bloated, inefficient, arrogant, agenda-ridden, champagne-socialist bds.

Fox can take whatever political line they want, I don't care because I am not forced to pay for it.

I watch the BBC, I also watch ITV, Channel4 and Channel5. I watch Dave rather a lot too.

In fact the proportion of watching of the BBC is about 1 fifth of the TV I watch so if it were to simply disappear, which I doubt will happen, I will still have award winning TV available at the touch of a button.

I don't doubt the great contribution (Top Gear) the BBC makes, even if it is biassed with politics, and I would miss it if it were to vanish, but it won't.

I do begrudge the BBC's TV tax. Whats it for? Owning a TV. Oh dear, I own a lawnmower, are they going to tax me for that? (OK probably)

If the licence went tomorrow I wouldn't shed a tear.
