Let Muslim women wear a full-face veil in court, says head of Supreme Court as he warns over bias against poor and foreign defendants
Lord Neuberger said....Oh, it's that old show respect lark.
What about watching and looking at the person giving evidence which often helps determine if they may or may not be telling the truth?
What about bikers who are forced to take off their helmets when buying fuel - can they now wear theirs?
Another example of kneeling at the feet and licking the shoes of the religion of peace.
One rule for one

defendant wears veil: only possible damage is to their own case. Their problem.
witness wears veil: their evidence is weighted slightly less than others. Who cares ?
All in all: don't see how this will ever effect 99.5% of the uk population.
Grist to the mill for Islamophobes though !

All this will lead to is EDL types wearing ski masks everywhere as they'll have the exact same basis for doing so, neither being any sort of religious requirement or societal norm.
Facial coverings have no place in British society, and its time they were banned in aid of integration.
I like many I guess are confused about Islam and why we must integrate rather than the other way around.Facial coverings have no place in British society, and its time they were banned in aid of integration.
At Anfield recently a couple of people took the opportunity to pray at halftime and someone made the comment that it was a disgrace. He is now being hounded for his comment.
So whats the deal here what is integration and who is expected to integrate.

no not the praying it was inside the ground during a match if praying was so important and time sensitive why not stay at home.I would have thought it was also a health and safety issue as it was at the bottom of a staircase. Not surprised he is being hounded.

The face should be clearly seen in a court of law so the laywers/jurors and other pertinant member of said court can see exactly how the person is reacting to questions. I don't stand alone with my thoughts here by a long way.
I don't care if it only effects 0.5% of the population. You live in Great Britain, you live by our rules. As far as I can see there is no reason whatsoever to keep a face covered in that situation.
It's not about Islamaphobes, for the record I have lived in Iran, Saudi Arabia and Jordan and on a personaly level have many friends who are Muslim. Not only am I told to respect their laws, I do so without question, and do you know what...........those I know are normal hard working family and friend orientated normal members of society....shock fecking horror.
Perhaps even though we are trying to integrate all cultures into our society and obviously work together for the good of all common sense should prevail and in this instance it isn't being applied.
It's a rule being changed for the wrong reasons.

So it was the breach of health and safety that was a disgrace? I can empathise with that.
I think the question was why was it ok for them to pray in that particular place .Would they have been moved on perhaps if they were just sitting down reading a paper etc.the bigger question which seems impossible to answer is what is integration.
