Imho politics is fked as the MP's have almost all come across as cheating lying bds + not to be trusted; if there is no obligation to deliver manifesto policies + it seems they can do what they like once voted in then it is kind of pointless to vote yet if you don't vote that also seems pointless too if only we had a "none of the above" option.

That's how I read it. I don't think it's selfless. It simply makes way more sense to me to get the system right and work within it, rather than getting it right for me, and just hoping that system works on a massive scale.
