The “anti-Greta”
Discussion
It seems there is now a right wing alternative to Greta:

Unlike the real Greta this one is financially supported by a right wing lobbying group (the Heartland Institute) and has links to far right organisations (Young AfD) and it seems her mother has links to the far right too.
Will we see a thread with hundreds of pages on here that accuse her of being a puppet, with memes about her odd appearance and age?

What is she preaching about? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/feb/25/an...

When she is all over the media telling other people to stop doing things she is doing herself I would guess so.
I saw one of these videos on the Youtube and i didnt watch it, but i did read the comments and im genuinely concerned at some of the stuff that people post, like do this people genuinely think like this? Do this believe this? Because some of the stuff is frankly bonkers. Im all for people believing what they want, watching & listening to whoever they want (hey, i thought Corbyn would be a good PM, what a fool i am)but i do worry that some of these people are just plain "bats**t crazy".
The climate change message is utterly negative the whole way through, not a single benefit is allowed to be discussed.
Any person or organisation who offers a different view to that being pushed is criticised and called a denier or far right.
This is a thread started by a true believer to try and establish that this girl is "far right" so therefore bad, and spread yet more negativity.
What the hell are you doing here? On this forum? Really.
It's no wonder accusations of paid shill and shift work gets thrown at you guys, it's weird and most free thinkers can see right through you.

Listening to R4 tonight, a funny sketch, talk, group chat thing with an American presenter and held, I think, at a university.
Comment from participant along the lines of we're doomed and will all be dead in ten years.
It wasn't laughed off and seemed like it was a well supported view amongst the audience.
fking panic Stations, headless chickens, alert, alert!
BUT
If we didn't have people continually pushing this agenda then we'd likely always take the easy way and would continue to act with complacency. There is nothing wrong with looking at conserving what we've got, using less, wasting less, reducing pollution but there's gonna be a whole load of bullst bingo, bandwagon jumping, wokey-wokey fktardery along the way!

People don't like being told what to do, or what not to do, that is all.
She is 19.... And therefore an adult.... She came to the attention of the media after uploading Videos to YouTube last year not being parachuted into the public eye while still a child. Not sure what comparison you are trying to make or why we should be concerned about what an adult does.

Exactly.Funny how there is a lot of video footage of Greta from before she became famous isn't it?
Almost like it's a manufactured rise in popularity that went to plan and then a few documentaries could be done to further hammer the point home.
Who funds Greta is a bigger question.
This latest thread is calling out a 19 year old who so far has far more transparency than Greta ever has.
I mentioned this to some enviro-jihadists the other day, thinking it was good news; you would have thought I farted in church:

I saw something about this, however surely this is simply the same issue with Greta - a child who has no actual knowledge on the subject and thus is neither expert nor educated on the matter. Which then begs the question as to why anyone should pay any attention to what they say..
Greta's role is just to point to the evidence that's already out there. There's no need for her to come up with new stuff. Randy Winkman said:
