Announced today, at long last army bases surplus to requirement and those in a dilapidated condition are to be sold off for redevelopment. Not only will this raise revenue it will also be useful within the housing construction industry for a kick-start on new projects. What this means in terms of MOD sale price of the land being discounted or not, we will have to wait for more information. Also the terms of sale are unknown, at least to me, imagine housing will include some quantity of social house building on the sites as well as private stock.
