Looking forward to see the UKIPH defence for his actions.

Nigel Farage could face an expenses inquiry into allegations concerning £60,000 of missing European Union funds paid into his personal bank account.

What do you think that he has done wrong?
Claim £60k in allowances that UKIP says it "doesn't want. We don't want British MEP's costing the taxpayers all this money". Way to make a stand, Nige. Then on the UKIP website they want to be transparent and show where the money goes and this allowance had gone to pay for his office. Except the office is entirely rent free.
Everyone is at it and frankly I don't blame them. I'd rinse it for all it was worth given half the chance.
This thread is more about the blinkered UKIPHers who would stand up for Nige whatever he does. And, predictably, they have.

Phew! Glad we got that one sorted and it's clear that St Nige is all above board and correct with only our interests at heart.
Can we go back to discussing Muslims and BBC now?

It would make a refreshing change if people either defended the action, admitted it was wrong or provided some other explanation as to why it is ok, instead of simply saying "Oi! Look over there instead"!

Do you understand the difference between an allowance and an expense claim?
One needs receipts to prove it's being spent correctly. The other relies on trust that it's being spent correctly.Farage, like most UK MEP's, publish spending on their website and he's allocated £17k for office costs. Even with the revised figures in the letter today there is a fairly major discrepancy between the allowance he's accepted and the cost of the office.
But of course we can be utterly sure that all politicians are trustworthy and wouldn't be spending this money on anything other than official business it's time to move on and stop pointing fingers.

If you mean lots of people are pointing and laughing at swivel eyed loons then yes, we're petrified. We REALLY have got you other dyed in the wool, stuck in the mud, ToryLabLibs worried haven't we?
As an aside I can't help but chuckle at the repeated shorthand for Nigel Farage. I suppose in a way he is a bit National Front Lite

The point here is that when Nige presents himself (I think falsely) as the ordinary bloke standing against the toffs, his own socio-economic background becomes relevant. It's not a big point; merely another example of the mountebank tricks whereby Nige masquerades as something other than yet another professional politician who is in it for reasons of personal ambition, and who is prepared to dance around the truth when it suits him to do so.
Don't be silly. I've seen him drinks pints and everything. No privately educated ex-Tory former commodities trader would drink beer.
He's one of us, BV. One of us.

Do we know that IS what he has done yet? I am yet to see evidence to that effect, perhaps you have a link?
Farage admits he has received the money. There is dispute over how much of it is being spent on the things it is supposed to be.give us a link and I will happily sign a petition demanding he stands down (as I did with miller through Change.org)

The office costs £700 per month. When I went to school we were taught the times tables and that £700 times 12 equals £8400 (which is not too far removed from Mr Farage’s £1000 per month)

We're not talking massive sums but I bet everyone here would welcome a few hundred pounds per month of tax free money paid directly to their personal account with no requirement to supply receipts or justification of where it's gone. They are ALL at it, MEPs and MPs. We're just saying Farage is no different and therefore hypocritical when he was so vocal about Miller.

Those are the rebuttals. They are the most recent figures provided by the parties involved.
It's a fking allowance! No receipts required. He could have spent it on coke and hookers for all I care.Glad we've come full circle.

It has been pointed out by everyone that these allowances are fixed amounts all the MEP's get the same amount, it is up to the MEP how they are spent, these are not expenses. The fact that you are incapable of understanding the difference is a sad indictment of our educational system. There is not even a mechanism to hand back unspent amounts, wishing for wrong doing wont make it so sorry!
The difference being I don't then get up on a soapbox and criticise others from doing so and call for their heads.

The European Parliament said on Monday that there was no further cause to investigate Mr McMillan-Scott's claims, according to Ukip's website.
So even the EU itself reckons it is nonsense lol
Funny how someone marking their own homework always gets an A.So even the EU itself reckons it is nonsense lol
At the risk of repeating myself I'm not saying Farage is doing anything different compared to every other politician. Just that he's a hypocrite for criticising others.

Farage was criticising Miller for abusing tax payer's money whilst his nose was in the trough full of freshly delivered gravy.
