Bring in P&O Ferries Chief Executive Peter Hebblethwaite. He might handle the rail strikers differently with his fire and rehire policy, as he applied to ferries.....! biggrin

Apologies if this has already been mentioned in the thread, as last-minute talks have failed and the strike will go ahead next week....

It will be interesting to see what happens to some freight movements.
This. I haven't used trains in over a decade, but the freight movements may be far more reaching...

Doos anyone know if this will effect Nottingham’s tram system? A Google search suggest the drivers are GMB members and have previously threatened strike action.
From what I can see online, it looks to be operating normally.

No dates on further RMT strikes yet as last weeks ones conclude...
They may well wait a month or so for the school summer holidays to begin in my opinion.....!

Yes, I realise that various strikes are continuing - and that, technically at least, the government remains operational.
What I was wondering was whether any progress on pay and T&Cs was now actually expected before September.
I don't think Grant Shapps did much under Boris's Govt.. We'll have to wait and see if they get more involved when new PM is in Downing St on Sept. 5th....!
