WTF? Just how?

This is bound to put the cat amongst the pigeons no doubt, but really? What is a two year old kid doing close enough to a river to fall in the bloody thing? scratchchin

I'm angry for the kid, someone took their eye of the ball. I have 3 kids and they're still alive because they were properly supervised (they're grown up now with kids of their own who also haven't fallen in any rivers.)

I'm so glad that the bleeding heart "it's a terrible unavoidable accident" types among you aren't doing the risks assesments for any jobs I'm involved in.

So you're seriously suggesting parents should draw up RAMS every time they decide to take their kids for a walk???

Mine have long since flown the nest, but the amount of near misses that happened over the years is quite sobering.
In this case, a young child appears to have tragically drowned. One can only empathise with the family. Does that make me a 'bleeding heart'??
Yes, I'm afraid it does. There is an awful lot of this "people doing backflips to excuse downright stupidity" stuff going on nowadays. Tell you what, next time I'm babysitting my grandkids I'll just leave them in front of the telly and nip out for a pint or two shall I? What could possibly go wrong?

Stop digging.

My son is still alive at 22 do well done me.

Accidents happen. There but for the grace of god etc.
You don't get it do you? Did you bother to look at the photos of the river where the police are having to risk their lives to search for a kid who should never been taken anywhere near it in the first place!? By the looks of it, an adult should be seriously considering giving it best and going home too.

I've seen some photos of where the police are searching, but not of where the incident happened. Has the exact location been released?
Is that particularly relevant?

I suppose I'll have to dig out a bunch of RAMS templates if my kids produce grandparents & ask me to look after them for the day....

Jesus wept: a kid just died. I'm pretty sure he wasn't involved in some tiktok style 'dare'. Perhaps the parents weren't the sharpest tools in the box, & perhaps they indeed did take the child out in unsuitable circumstances (???) Can anyone here even imagine the feelings of grief they are going through?
Yes, and that's what makes me so fking furious about it. It wasn't the kids fault, it was only 2 ffs. The person that should have been holding his hand, pushing his buggy, hell, even thinking it's a bit iffy down there best leave it...that person let the poor blighter down, and yeah, hurrah, he jumped in...should never have got to that point with a supposedly grown-up man present. Anyone with half a brain knows not to mess with rivers in flood. Too much of this crap happening these days, that and nutters murdering their children. Makes me spit

Very, very sad….
Not sure about your point with the reference to “nutters murdering their children” with regard to this, you have made your point, best maybe to leave it there.
I was referring to this

It could be, we don't know. But we are not jumping to conclusions, without any evidence, unlike some.

Not much point in pointing out to you that the photograph could have been taken several miles downstream from where the incident happened. As you already Know where it was and what happened.
You so desperate to virtue signal that you refuse to accept the bleeding obvious don't you?
