Ex-police dogs are great.
Ex police dogs that have passed their training - agreed. Those that fail training must have question marks?
Our psycho dogs that failed used to be given to the army, a lot ended up in Iraq/afghan and to be honest I don’t know what happened to them when the army finished with them, I do have an inkling that they were put down though

Came to the thread to comment similar about the ARV had been driven hard, clucking bells, that takes me back, can recall rocking up with smoking brakes but never as much as that.

Also as often say, those guys run towards danger, the offender is lucky he only faced tasers, few seconds later...

Then found the thread had gone well strange, odd thread to derail indeed.
The ARV bases are central/inner London and at 7am it would be shift changeover times

The location of this incident is right on the edge of the Met Police boundary, in fact the Limes farm estate behind these side roads is actually in the Essex Police area

They must have travelled some distance at warp speed to get there as quickly as they did plus it’s the early morning rush hour

Surprised the car didn’t disintegrate when it got there !!

Also to add I think Barkingside police station (that’s very close) has an armoury.

It doesn’t and never has, and it’s now only a satellite stn not the divisional station it used to be ( I’m not sure any response teams are based there anymore, the nearest being Ilford)

The old traffic warden base at the bottom of Horns Road by the Eastern Ave used to have a range underneath it but I think that’s long gone now

Can’t help but draw the comparison to the recent incident in Oz where the first responding (female) officer neutralised the threat and took down the offender immediately on first contact

Likewise the Batacan attack in Paris where passing detective took out the terrorist

The difference being on both occasions the first officer on scene was in possession of a sidearm for self defence

Both the first responders in the Hainault incident, a male Inspector and a female PC were seriously injured and may indeed not even have been in possession of a taser, certainly I don’t think Inspectors are routinely allocated taser courses and only 1 in 5 PC’s in the Met are taser trained, which doesn’t guarantee they would be carrying anyway (availability of tasers can be patchy)

Peter Blakely?

That washed up old idiot just tries to stay relevant, he pops up all the time with his opinions on policing but it's clear he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. He's just another ex police talking head that loves getting their face on the telly.

He's absolutely incorrect as the majority of cops don't carry taser.
Don’t get me started on him, how on earth he gets the airtime he does is beyond me

15 years as a PC .. a self confessed racist who left early under a cloud over 25 years ago and was never a Detective, merely a “branch detective” as he worked for a while as an UC buyer

The man spouts more st than a sewage works

A passing detective took out "the terrorist" - are you joking?
In the terrorist attacks in Paris on the Bataclan and other places in paris, there were 130 deaths, 416 injured and 9 terrorists, 7 of whom were killed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/November_2015_Paris_...
My recollection hazed by time is that a local officer attended whilst attack was ongoing and shot dead one of the terrorists outside who was wearing a suicide vest, the other terrorists then attacked the cop which may have saved some innocent lives inside

The French specialist armed response arrived a while later

My point, though probably not well articulated was that the first officer on scene was armed and able to take out a threat, I should perhaps have said “A” terrorist rather than “the” terrorist

Apologies for any confusion
