Yes, I believe they do.

I've nothing against people getting rich through capitalism, but I believe many in the City now have a distorted view of the world, are particularly arrogant and don't really contribute much to society in general. A large percentage of city types need bringing down to earth.

And I'm also sick of their hangers on and wannabes who always back them up with stupid comments like 'fair play to them' and 'they earn more than you so must be doing something right' sort of thing.
Yes, I can't help but think that the views of the City are over-represented on PH.

Shame they aren't directing their ire at the people who are actually responsible.
Who's that then?

Certainly isn't me.

YES. fk the City. fk the bankers and all the other trough pigs who just can't get enough of it, and who regularly fk it up for the rest of decent society.

Unfortunately, there is only one language these sociopaths understand, so my sympathies to innocent people who get caught up in it.

The worst thing is that this will probably be the one chance the governments have to destroy the influence of the financial organised crime world, but they're not seizing the chance.

It staggers me that the government is mincing around when they could, one way or another, destroy Fred Goodwin, destroy Barcap SCuM and bring the rest to heel.

There should be millions of people on these demos, but we just don't seem to fight back.
Yes indeed, also my sympathies in case your sister, daughter or mother get caught up in it and end up in hospital or dead, but hey, it's the price we must be prepared to pay for mob justice right?
I don't believe there will be any violence towards individuals.

Why do you believe that?
As far as I know there hasn't been before.

How about every individual who has bought a house in the last few years and thereby fueled the asset bubble that has just burst?
Yes, quite.

All those who have 'got me rights innit' shuffling credit around to buy their plasma screens. But that's the fault of Tarquin at Lloyds of course. smile
I bought my house about 8 years ago and have about £300 worth of debt.

Still not me is it? angel

So when the protestors went up the escalators at Liffe (which was about the worst place they could have picked) they weren't going aftet the floor traders??? I think you're wrong.
I don't know about that but I was working in the City the last couple of times this kicked off, and mostly it was pretty good humoured.

Can some of the 'yes' voters let us know why they are advocating violent protests?

Protests are fine, but IMO - 'a kicking' is very wrong indeed. Unless of course the 'yes' voters are assuming this means a regulatory 'kicking'.
As you know, and know full well, the vast majority of the protestors are normal people who aren't there to get violent.

As you also know, they don't bear any ill-will to normal bank employees who are "just following orders".

This is a show of public opinion, from a public who are sick of bailing out bankrupt banks, who then take that bailout money and desparately try to trouser it as bonuses.

While the rest of us lose our jobs, these people are drinking champagne, paid for with our money.

And when people get this angry, anything can happen.
MaxF, the question I asked refers to the City, not City workers, so the kicking can only be metaphorical, not physical. I can only assume you are being disingenuous in your interpretation of the thread title you drama queen.
