Houses are the biggest contributor aren't they?
Indeed, and it's the next area to be taxed - hence the HIPS reports. When the illegitimate Son of Kyoto is (not) agreed in Nohopenhagen this December, there will be other means devised of taxing the bejesus out of us.
Remember this? Buying and owning designer clothes, gardening equipment and tools, glassware and kitchen kit, audio-visual recreational equipment and cars is killing the planet. These should all be hired, not owned, according to the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP).

The eco nutter adverts annoy the hell out of me. Yes I drive a 3.5 litre car but I only do 2000 miles a year maximum! My car's annual CO2 output is far less than nearly everyone else I know as they're using their cars daily.
If I was driving 10-20K+ miles a year, I'd have something more economical and 'greener'.
As I'm forced to pay VED and insurance 7 days a week whether I use the car or not, I shall drive what I bloody well want...
This is what really pisses me off about the UK, and it does seem to be worse here than anywhere else. Why the hell should you feel you have to justify your lifestyle in a country that is supposed to be a democratic free market economy, and feel compelled to defend what you buy with your hard earned, after paying numerous taxes, NI and everything else! Sometimes, it feels like this nasty morally and financially bankrupt (anti)government pay benefits to people to do their bidding - it seems strange that such people can openly slag you off for your lifestyle (even damage your property with impunity, that you work hard for, whilst taking, without any effort at all, a percentage of the fruits of your labour! If I was driving 10-20K+ miles a year, I'd have something more economical and 'greener'.

I really hope the UK wakes up and recovers from this utter nightmare.
