They are supposed to be low risk. Ford is an Open Prison (it used to be a Royal Naval Air Station.

they dont sound that harmless to me, hopefully the perpetrators are on the way to a proper prison not a up market holliday camp sorry open prison like the one they just wrecked..

It does seem that inappropriate inmates have been allocated to Ford because of lack of space at other prisons.

But I doubt that the more normal type of offender found at Ford is likely to riot.

It's an open prison. That usually does give an indication of the type of offenders held there.

I think it was being used as an "overflow" for prisoners who should really have been elsewhere.
I'm sure there will be an enquiry into what happened.

Latest News: Riot at Ford Prison. Inmates had a Fiesta for New Year, lost Focus and then scored some Ghia. There was a police Escort but I believe some of the foreign prisoners wanted to see their Consuls who were on holiday in Capri, a Popular resort.

I'm surprised some of the prisoners haven't been shifted to Anglia (East, of course).
