Looking at my figures I have had a 2.01% return for 2016, slightly down on the 2.10% I had the previous year in 2015.

Not too bad given it risk free, almost instant access and a bit of fun.

Quite pleased this morning, first win after investing 5 draws ago, £25 on a £6,250 investment and the winning bond was one of the £250 I invested at the end of November so was it's first draw this month. Not expecting much else this year though.

No win for me. Nothing since I won the first time I deposited £100 a few years ago.

Do need to add some more funds.

Hello everyone... I got a lump sum of money in October and came across this post when I was deciding what to do with it.

Interest rates are shocking so I decided I quite like the idea of gambling my guaranteed £11.50 a month for a bit of fun instead. I hope to invest the money back into bricks and mortar so I don't want to tie it up anywhere, nor risk losing any.

Results so far on 38k
Dec 2 x £25
Jan 2 x £25

Beginners luck and probably won't get another bean....but alot more fun than the bank taking the Micky and giving me pennies !!

Exactly my attitude too, even though i have had nada for the past few months...

My annual rate of return on PBs over the past 3 years has been .9%, 1% and .5% which I can live with considering I have instant access to my money and a bit of risk free excitement each month.

I see that both this month's million winning bonds were purchased less than a year ago, so there are two very happy people out there...

Yeah, some would say two people who needed a million quid tax free from the Government might have won...!

Well I'm dipping my toes back in. Just bought £100 to make sure account is open etc etc and will make further purchase towards end of the month. From the blurb this means my first draw will be March?

How does one pay for >£10K? BACS? Will that be same day? Or is it on debit card? Again same day or not? At the moment I'm thinking of purchase on 20th Jan to be in Marchs draw?

When I have made > £10k deposits I have done so by debit card, nice and simple.

Theoretically best to put it in a couple of workings days before the end of the month but in reality if it is just sitting in the bank, with interest rates so low, there is no real benefit to holding onto it for a few extra days.

I've done mine by debit card. If I deposited today, it would be in the 'bonds' today even though it's actually taken a further 2 or 3 days to actually leave my current account and yes, deposit any day up to 31 January (though I perhaps would do it a day or so before then) and you'll be in the March draw.

5 x £25 in 2016 so not too shabby compared to 3 x £25 I got in 2015. 2014 was better with 4 x £25 + 1 x £100 wins.

I choose not to max out on PB as I diversofy more hence my 'holding' has not varied from the £11k I dropped in 10yrs ago.

Overall It's not been bad - especially when I dropped 1 x £50 + 1 x £5k wins in 2007 with them

Can I just check, my 1st draw (on 35k) has just happened and I've had no e-mail or anything about it. Just logged in and the account looks just the same as it did a month ago. "No prize history".

Does this mean that I just didn't win zip?

How do they let you know if you did win?

If you invested 35k, are still holding 35k and you asked them to reinvest all prizes then you have won zero.
How they let you know is up to you, by post takes a few weeks.
