Anyone ininvest in the Swedish BIT-XBT fund? I sold my bitcoins and moved the "fiat" into this fund. It's priced in SEK so I have that as an added risk.

i use bitcointalk, it is a open forum , a bit like ph in the crypto world. there are loads of news places but a lot are paid for adverts etc. you can join a coins slack, the details will be on bitcointalk new announcements.

i use a variety of exchanges, liqui.io , kraken, bittrex, poloniex, Cryptopia, tidex and some others. they each have there positives and negatives, bittrex for me is the safest. localbitcoins to buy an sell

have a look at https://coinmarketcap.com/, it is a good tool for gathering information and has links to websites.

whatever you do have a play, i lost money very quickly being stupid, i bought my first eth on ebay to start off. Remember it is full of scams etc and it is very risky, sometimes markets go up and down massively.

Inspired by a few blogs I've read recently I have decided to buy a broad range of cryptos.

Easily done - transferred BTC from my Trezor to hitBTC exchange, and then bought an assorted 15 coins - roughly based on the top coins by market cap.

Not so much an investment as an experiment - I plan to hodl for 12 months and not sell - but we will see....

Seconded. If you can't be arsed to get individual wallets, there are multi coin wallets like Jaxx and Coinomi.

ok folks - I've not bet the house on this - as I said it is not an investment as such, more of an experiment to see how things go over a 12 month period.

and lets remember this is not gold bullion we are talking about - it is very high risk.

For the sake of 10-30mb of downloading you can massively increase the security of your money, even if it is pin money.

Plus, if one of these experimental lottery punts hard forks like Eth & BTC did, all the new coins are definitively yours.

i agree with some of what you say but lets say one of your coins in now worth x times more, even at 100 dollars start is significant. at least enable 2fa. as long as you know the risks.

This is a good point. I always use 2FA when available with of course a pass phrase rather than pass word.

I've decided to take a punt on ripple and picked up 200.

What are the views on Ledger Nano S to hold coins securely? I've only got about £1,300 worth of various BTC/ ETH/ LTC/ XRP so £70 on a wallet is 5% of the coins current value.

I'm pretty sure XRP will do great - eventually. But at the minute it just bounces around like a madman.
Put a bit of money on Litecoin, seems a bit stagnant at the minute.

ive xrp but and sell coins to control the price, no other coin does this. yes it is fast and quick but a lot of banks tech the ideas and use there own system. i think it is over rated and btc lightening network could match its tx speed.

Apparently 80% of Japanese banks are going to get into it, which makes me think that in the long run, it'll be worth a good bit more.

I just can't see how in any known universe any bank is going to use something that's exposed to an open market, let alone one as rigged as the crypto market.

Are they going to have to go from door to door asking for XRP holders if they run out or can't afford it that day?

It's just the same as most other things. The 'banks are coming' means they'll rent the code for their own closed systems.

Ledger Nano S is an awesome bit of kit, very secure and even if you lose it or it gets destroyed you can recover your coins though the word keys.

Im not sure if you can even buy one at the moment, the back order list was so long that they were selling on eBay for £200 +
