Fantasy PH Share League 2014
Discussion
No. Im basing it on the fact that random selection has outperformed the pro's many times.
AIM shares are faster growing and being in the top 50 ensures a certain size.
Also see "Dogs of the ftse" for a similar bent http://www.moneyobserver.com/portfolio-ideas/dogs-...
and "Monkey with a pin" http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/investing/artic...
Im making it mechanical because that removes any erroneous emotion. Plus Im not going to try and time the market. Just go all in asap.
Nice and passive then. Ill buy and hold for the year

Remains to be seen that I'll make any wise decisions in 2014!

how do i find a list of companies? all i can find is a search and any companies i look for arent found. is it just uk companies?
You can play with any company listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). Each company has a code referred to as an EPIC (sometimes referred to as TIDM or ticker).briangriffin said:

http://www.ftse.com/Indices/UK_Indices/Constituents.jspIt's not just UK companies, it's any company that wants to be listed in London. (and is accepted)
Many companies are listed on multiple exchanges and will usually have a different ticker for each bourse. So if you happen to be on an American web site it will show the US ticker.
You can often scroll down to find the ".L" or pick from a drop down menu.
If you post a company you have a problem with I'm sure some kind hearted soul will help.
Or maybe not

Cheeky CPP buy with half my money this morning
And out at the end of the day again. It's a share I hold for real but sadly today's gain wasn't a big number as it's a small holding I have and only broke even lunchtime today. Gassing Station | Finance | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
