You certainly dont have to report it though I think 10K is the limit a dealer, trader, bank can accept in cash before they have to report it under money laundering laws. As foe being questioned by Police a couple of hundred is enough to get you a fair grilling nowadays due to hardly anyone using cash. Thirty years ago I used to routinely wander around with 500 cash in my pocket in case I got offered any good deals, nowadays that would probably get me a few hours grilling down the local police station.

Why not arrange to pick up the £10K from an Aberdeen branch of your bank.

The branches do talk to each other you know.

Taking a punt on that blue 996 seems a lot less risky than carrying and doing this deal in cash.

As another said, sort out a scenic route for the return journey, I invariably think of places I'd like to get to via road when seeing cars for sale up there.

Well I sacked Aberdeen of and bought this instead on Saturday morning. Still 150 miles away!

Did you carry the cash to buy? On the other hand I'm not sure I would be comfortable with that much cash unless it was meet at bank
