Saving £250 a month. Have I started off the right way?
Discussion
I started a SIPP in February in a similar way although after some researching I split 50% gilts / 50% share funds, the latter split across geographic regions in low cost funds
Appears that of this morning I am -0.3% down not including fees. Looks like the GBP recovering yesterday wiped me out
Oh well, it's long term!

With a SIPP, you'll have had a government contribution of 20% thrown in, so technically you're still up. Appears that of this morning I am -0.3% down not including fees. Looks like the GBP recovering yesterday wiped me out

I dont know how old you are but 50% gilts is always going to be a low return. Unless you're retiring soon, I'd think about sticking them into equities. IMO, of course.Appears that of this morning I am -0.3% down not including fees. Looks like the GBP recovering yesterday wiped me out
