I am using the App and yet I am still a fool. I live in the US where Chase would never buy business through interest rates.1.5% would be insane. I was not doubting the posters, just eager to pounce.
Oh well, I will stick to my 0.02% rate.
This thread relates to the Chase Bank UK account.Oh well, I will stick to my 0.02% rate.

UPDATE - I phoned again just before midnight yesterday and got through quickly. They asked a few questions about who I was paying, it was Mrs BC. They also asked what the money was for, I declined to answer that as it’s really not their business. Anyway the transaction went through.
A lot of fuss about nothing? Hopefully yes and other transfers will happen easily.

I’m just back from the USA where I used the Chase card extensively. The forex rate was always ok and no fees also free to withdraw case from Chase ATM’s. The 1% reward was also useful but for me best of all was that it was accepted at the petrol/gas stations. For those unfamiliar with buying petrol in the US the usual system is to use your card and input your zip code at the pump. If you don’t have a zip code that doesn’t work but the Chase card did.

It used to be that you can use 00000 as a zip code on UK cardsHaving also spent 4 weeks in the US on a road trip we had a few problems with getting gas using the chase card, but not any different than we have had on other trips, its hugely variable and dependent on the policies of individual gas stations, There were however a few which asked for ZIP and we could not get around without going in and pre-paying with the cashier.
On the whole though i think the introduction of chip and pin in the US (slowly) and contactless has had a greater impact on the zip code problem at gas stations than the chase card being "American" has
ETA generally though using the chase card was a breeze and was never locked in a problematic way needing phone calls to the UK like other cards we have had in the past, even after notifying them of our trip in advance. I did have one oops with a faulty Walmart till which seemingly disabled foreign transactions, but once we were back to the room to investigate and found the setting in the app and enabled foreign transactions again all was good for the remainder of the trip

So with revolut if I put £1000 into the account, then convert it to USD , does this mean when Im using the card in the US it deducts it from that USD amount ?
I wouldn't suffer any charges etc ?
If I was to use my Barclay card then each transaction would be converted to GBP and fees applied I think.
This is how my Starling account works. I transfer money into the euro account at Starlings rate for that day, when I make purchases in euros using my normal card it deducts from the euro balance. I’m assuming other banks work the same way with other currencies. I wouldn't suffer any charges etc ?
