I bought Nio using eToro (hate that platform) based on a tip here and then forgot about it - logged onto eToro just now and it’s up 70% - thanks to whoever gave the tip smile
Wish I had so much money I could casually forget a few £mil I invested somewhere. I can account for every penny and haven’t forgotten to fish out the 5p under my car seat when I get a minute either :-)
I wish it was a few mil, that would be nice smile

I love how your move to sensible stocks centres around investing in companies that make a product everyone wants to outlaw smile Have you considered adding in any cigarette stocks?

Saw a 992 Turbo S in the flesh the other day, looked amazing. Can I borrow it when you’re using the wheelbarrow??
You can swap it for the 993 turbo for a few days.

Plenty of life in oil stocks despite what Tesla fanatics think, won’t reach the heights of 2019 but 25% off eventually IMHO. They will certainly bounce up when flights etc get to some normality (arguable when that is, we all have a theory I guess)
Deal smile at least this pandemic has knocked Greta off the news

Never read an rns like it, wetherspoons guy likes to go one. Even opens up talking about Warren buffet opinions on an ideal business enviroment

https://www.lse.co.uk/rns/JDW/preliminary-results-...

Have yourself a skim over if it, wll these years investing/trading never seen anything like it.

Theres a whole section on press corrections too, basically saying they were wrong I was right.
Dreadful results mind.
That is a quality RNS! Wonder if Tim’s been raiding one of his cellars...

Who would have thought Warren would be a ‘spoons man, last time I saw him he was throwing some shapes In Revs Reading... Talking about being thirsty when others are hungry, or some such tosh...

Here’s hoping for a slightly better end to the week!

In the paper this morning that Pfizer are mass producing CV vaccines right now for the US and the UK and elsewhere. Does this mean all other CV players will fall tomorrow with Pfizer the winner in the race? I don't get how SNG are talking about phase 3 trials next year for a treatment when others appear to be winning the race.

I guess there is room for more than one vaccine and more than one treatment but it seems to be there are so many companies all racing to deliver these; I wonder if many pharma sp will collapse over the next few months?
Haven’t read the news yet but don’t believe they know whether any one vaccine will work for everyone, they also don’t know how long immunity (that word always reminds me of Lethal Weapon) will last for.

Could be room for multiple vaccines as well as treatment drugs and detection systems.

Who knows what the markets will do, my direct exposure to Covid related stocks is dwarfed by my exposure to stocks that will benefit when the threat of Covid minimises.

My exposure to Covid stocks is now significantly lower following Gerry disastrous presentation.

I thought they had previously announced they were mass producing a number of vaccines prior to results being known? With the thought process being that some will fail but it was better to take the chance and accept money would be wasted.

thats why its a gamble - when results are known the shares will be too expensive or shudder too cheap!! we're all trying our best which is why this thread is nice and whoever comes out on top can buy the rest of us a beer. looking at you 500 miles wink
More than happy to sponsor the beers once we’re through this - no prizes for guessing where we’ll be holding it smile

Ps.

Thanks to everyone who said congratulations on Friday - I’m not able to discuss anything to do with the company at the moment due to rules and regs, if I ignore something I’m not being rude. smile

Other than being a proud shareowner, do you have my other interests in the business?

Do you have any relevant expertise, qualification or specialist knowledge in the field?
not sure what youre getting at - people asked about sng and dngg replied with whats publicly available to everyone. if you are interested in sng and interferons then sir professor holgate's lecture that is coming out tomorrow is well worth a watch. if not then dont invest theres no pushing on shares on this thread just facts as we see them but its all a gamble.

quite frankly i feel more expert on treatments and tests of covid than any mp etc having sat through umpteen presentations etc in the last 6 months!

but still no expertise, no qualification, no specialist knowledge, no interests in the business apart from being a nervous shareholder!
Just to add and in fairness to dingg, this is the 'big gamble' thread and he tipped BWNG (which generated a 24% return for me in a matter of days) and SNG (which I'm currently up 336%, that's not a typo!) with very clear and insightful rationale therefore he seems extremely knowledgeable and I read his posts with great interest whilst recognising the elements that are tongue in cheek.

Please keep it coming dingg!
Agree - some great insight and tips! Thanks Dingg

Not that it's much to go on but a lot of us all had this exact same conversation about 6 months ago...
Well... as I said a year ago, and then 6 months ago and then 3 months ago, etc... it can’t go any lower...

Might put that on my gravestone...

Means less traffic. A win for us!
Possible double win as Greta won't have anything to grumble about too.

In a way I quite like the idea of sitting in a darkened room playing computer games all day with endless pizza deliveries. It'll be like living as a teenager for the rest of my life.
When you put it like that, doesn’t sound too bad!

Im hoping cinemas survive, not just to protect shareholding but it would be a sadder place without them.

Good to see some positive messages about vaccines in the weekend press, hopefully as positive news flow increases we’ll start to see the markets respond positively..

And if the vaccines don’t come soon, we’ll always have Gerry’s dvd machine to save the day..

Sounds like they are just looking to join the current consortium as opposed to being another entrant putting an alternative bid in.

Still promising.

Worked my socks off this week, I have a spare £1200 to invest.

Thoughts please folks.

Top up BOO
Get back in SNG
Buy NIO (Although I can't in my HL account)
Take a punt on AA

Coke n strippers? Ha!

I'm already in GGP, EUA & KOD, so I don't really want any more mining shares.

Thanks in advance.
From a risk reward perspective it would be Boo for me... the others could increase significantly more than Boo however also more chance that the others could go bang... obviously you shouldn’t listen to a person who is advocating a company that allegedly uses slave labour and whose auditors have resigned due to alleged money laundering...

So they said the merger was contingent on 90% of the shareholders voting for it, that was never going to happen as most people don't or forget to vote - they've now reduced it to 50% and extended the deadline for people to accept.

Must admit, I forgot to vote and accept... will do so once the corporate action has been updated on HL.

I think he's keeping a lower public profile now that he's a NED.
I’m back!

I generally like to keep a low profile however BenBay forced me to break cover!

I reckon the next few weeks are going to be interesting, hopefully in a different way than they were in Jun/July/August... etc etc..

I keep thinking about selling some stocks down and re-investing in a smaller handful, however, fomo stops me doing it.. there is always a reason to hold onto something... whether it’s the almost guaranteed 10 bagger that is Hyve or Father Ted’s best loved DVD machine manufacturer.. there is always a reason to hold..

I’m 500 Miles and I am a hoarder...

What’s everyone’s tips for the week?

I reckon the Vodka bars will have a old week... my new share that I think is a good long term prospect is The Social Chain - a mini hut group. Closely traded and not a huge amount of liquidity at the moment but could be a solid long term buy, I bought on Friday and might top up tomorrow. Not one to trade in and out of, probably needs to be a long term hold as well.

I know I should sell out of Nio after the run it’s had... I also know I probably won’t..
