I sold some IAG at 210 taking £200 profit but mainly just so I can have some cash for a bargain.

Just went for CINE. Cheers for the thoughts.
Snap - thought I would join the madness.

Watching Costain and ready to buy, AML I am torn on - have I missed the boat? - and Clear Channel because it went up 9% yesterday and 500Miles is taking a punt on it. Only putting small amounts into each - not a high roller like some here but if I stick in enough across a spread then I should in theory come out winning.

IAG at 210 would seem like a bargain at most points in time!

Agree, tempting to top up. Bought a load at 320p thinking it was cheap now around £1k down!

I still think Costain is a bargain
I hope so, currently down 30% from my average of 80p.
I’ve written this about 4 times but it keeps disappearing... please ignore me if you see different messages on the same subject.. not been drinking..honest smile

Costain looks interesting - with results on Thursday I think they could be worth a punt.. they can’t go lower... smile
Costain/Babcock/Capita are all in the same mold imo.

I don't understand why they plummeted so much in March when they are largely government based businesses so should be relatively "safe". Their price doesn't seem to be very volatile; it just stays stagnant. They all have static or slightly decreasing revenue. Of the 3 BAB have the better profits but despite that we all know what has happened to their sp.

Capita have further to rise if this type of "safe" stock does ever rise again (maybe this level is the new normal). Capita also dropped further therefore have further to rise (yeah I know that's irrelevant!)

I've had lots of Costain in the past but sold at a small profit and don't want to get back in to them. BAB.... well got LOTS of them and heavily £down and emotionally just sitting on them now til they double in 2 years. As much as it pains me I think I'll add to Capita today and see what happens with their H1 results on 18th August.

Whats the story with Costain? Its been dropping steadily, has a big brexit exposure, and even LSE sentiment seems to be hoping for a takeover.

I don't know anything about Costain, but if comparing BAB and CPI, it seems that the latter has had relatively positive news flow this year which doesn't seem to have been reflected in their SP.

My recent MNZS buy at 113p has thus far risen enough to pay for a 'eat out to help out' meal - thanks for the input Adam B.

Part of it is market caution. Too many big contract businesses have burnt people's fingers in the past and they're really slow to change.

I've not seen anything more about the potential rights issue, has there been an update?

Every time I think about dumping SHI for not doing anything, it has a little bounce.

A bit like the crazy gf who annoys you to the point of dumping her, then she turns up looking hot and you give her another chance..

Up 2.45% so far today.. the st popcorn company playing a blinder again, everyone’s favourite fat fashion company also doing well (up 140% overall, 8.4% today), AML, MWG, VMUK, Superdry and Ted all up between 8 and 14%.

4D down 5% after yesterday’s gains.. bought into costain at the beginning of the day... obviously now in a loss because I bought at open... never learn.

Biggest share down 0.5%.

I showing another 5% up today on whole portfolio!!!!

Back into positive figures if I sold everything which is weird as some of my shares are still 20-30% down. CINE, STOB the worst.

To add if everything gets back to break even on what I purchased with all the buying and selling I have been doing I would be 15% up.

CINE having another storming day.

Quick question, on the LSE boards everyone keeps on saying wait til the next rise at 2.30pm when the US opens up. But surely this makes no sense, as they can buy at exactly the same time as us, when our markets open at 8am?
