Is the property a HMO?

Rent seems strong for the property value......
Yeah its a student rental.
Run. I’ve rented to students in the past. Never again.
Each to their own. All of my BTL's are student rentals. High rent, and not too demanding as long as it's warm and has good WiFi. They won't look after the place mind you, always needs a clean and some TLC when they move out but more than made up for by the high rent. Rent is always consistent (mostly government loans and grants). As a landlord there's only one thing that scares me, and it's not a tenant who trashes the place or one that doesn't pay the rent. The only real thing that scares me is a tenant who doesn't move out and you need to evict. Very, very low risk of that with a student rental. Go in with the right mindset and it can be lucrative, I'd certainly consider acquiring more when my current projects are completed.

Well, time to add another Sarnie recommendation.

Completed today on my house, luckily I’ve not actually had to move as we’ve been living in it for 10 years already but the opportunity to buy came up and Sarnie sorted it all out.

Pretty headache free, straightforward advice and all done and dusted. With a new job, a baby on the way (now here) and normally life stresses to deal with I was worried it was going to be a headache but it’s been dead easy and Sarnie sorted his bits out with no drama!

Shout out to Davisons solicitors who have been very easy and professional to deal with as well.

A new recommendation for Liam/Sarnie to kick off the week!

I told him before Christmas "I'll put a note on Pistonheads for you" to which Liam replied "wait until the money's gone through" so here I am!

Having completed last week, still surrounded by boxes, thanks very much Liam for your help on securing the mortgage and answering my sometimes daft questions:- all very smooth and seemingly always available, thanks again!

Another recommendation for Sarnie.

He's just arranged a couple of insurance policies for me. Due to some mix-up in the forms, L&G seemed to think I was an alcoholic and refused to cover me. Needless to say, he sorted it all out on my behalf.

We completed a re-mortgage with/via Sarnie on Wednesday. The second time we've used him and like last time, no hassle or agro - thanks!

Hi Sarnie, I was wondering if it would be alright to get in touch about a mortgage?

Might you do mortgages in Scotland? I've no idea if things are different North of the wall. The bloody house buying process certainly is!

Cool. Can I chuck you a PM sometime tomorrow? Looking to buy but current broker is hopeless. I'll have to calculate the haggis:deep fried mars bar ratio for affordability biggrin
