Not such a great day for us at Croft. I started the race and got us up to the lead but about 10 minutes into Matt’s stint he had a sudden power loss followed a couple corners later by smoke pouring out the back .
The engine still runs but with a big misfire so today’s job is to find out what has happened as I was hoping to race at Anglesey this Thursday and we have a double header at Spa in a few weeks! Obviously hoping for something fairly straightforward but smoke is rarely good news so a full engine failure is a possibility
I will update properly on the IM Racing thread to avoid too much spamming on here so if anyone is interested in following the quite extreme ups and downs of club racing have a click HERE and follow the thread

It was a great day. Lovely to finally meet Nik in person. Sorry I didn't get to see you.
Too much fun packed in one day. Brilliant hospitality. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
The track is great, so many viewing points up close. And such intense racing.
I'll happily second every word of that. Thank you to Nik and the rest of the IM team as it was indeed a cracking day! Too much fun packed in one day. Brilliant hospitality. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

(Leef44, I've seen your name on PH several times; if I'd known you were there as well then I'd have introduced myself! Good to hear that you had a good day as well.)

Did we watch the same video?
Ominverse is a simulation and machine learning tool. Autodesk is just design software which has partnered with Omniverse. You design a car in Autodesk. Omniverse brings it to life.
Epic Games is a billion dollar losing private company cf Adobe is a highly profitable software multinational.
Nvidia is fabless and uses TSMC, yes. They are the only foundry that can manufacture at 5nm nodes(and soon 3nm). Is China a risk. I don't think so. Well not enough to avoid investing. Taiwan Semi produce 90% of the worlds next gen chips and supply the US Military as well who won't tolerate their tech being taken by a foreign country . They have fabrication facilities all over the World.

Obviously I'm crystal balling it here... but I'm also a user of a lot of the materials and tools in this space so I can get a feeling for what we've seen, what I see today, and the promise... and hope, of what I'd like to see in the future.
I think it's fair to say that with their system and captive user base, it'd not be unreasonable to expect tools for creation within omniverse.
The content creation space is now full of pay as you go models, and to get most of what you need in one place is increasingly attractive.
As you've noted several times when mentioning Nvidia, the software is a higher margin product for Nvidia, so this area of content creation would be an attractive addition.
Ie, AI driven creation of assets in the first place, which will be increasingly critical to make convincing worlds in which we want to interact for both creative and industrial uses of the Omniverse/Metaverses, at realistic cost.
I just see this as a natural progression, and a valuable one. I'm not sure if Nvidia want to compete there yet, but given the nature of Omniverse I think it'll appear organically any way as people implement more and more tools within it.
The organic growth and centralisation of tasks in one place will cause overlap and competition.
It's purely an observation. I'm sat here right now rendering 3D product shots. Thinking how an AI might be able to iterate some creative ideas faster, and how the rendering would be faster, and having both these tasks in once place is more valuable, and then why not do my 3D modelling and saving/backup in one place too, all via one subscription, and not having to pay Autodesk any more, or run my own servers and render machines any more etc.
These systems already do all exist, from many different providers, at multiple costs, with multiple old-school idiosyncrasies and legacy annoyances, security issues, NDA issues etc.
It's all very appealing to think Nvidia can just create an entire working professional environment within their Omniverse.
So I am fundamentally bullish and positive for Nvidia's future, and I'll be buying them happily (especially as their price has come down)
But I think it's valid to say that they'll be creating new value as much as they'll be taking it away from others too.
I think it's safe to say some other seemingly large businesses in this space are at danger of being steam-rollered by Nvidia and Epic Games.
Thanks for all the racing feedback, I am glad everyone enjoyed themselves. On this subject, we will be sending all PHer Private Clients and email this afternoon about the limited edition 20th anniversary IM Racing watch, in partnership with Christopher Ward London.
There will be an attached brochure which has a pre-order link within and it is limited to 100 numbered watches on a first come first served basis.
Just for clarity, we don't make a penny from these and if we did it would go to a suitable charity anyway!
Cheers
Julian

Hi guys, I've just got off the phone with NIk. There has been an issue with out bulk email software and as we are in an extended Bank Holiday their helpdesk is not being helpful until Monday morning now.
So the upshot is the very nice brochure will now not go out until then, but you can visit the Christopher Ward site and see it here:
https://www.christopherward.com/bespoke/intelligen...
The password is Racing20 though as it is a limited edition there will be a check on all orders that your are an IM Private Client (hence me not minding sharing the password here).
Cheers

...And Julian beat me to it!
Oof, that's rather shiny but I think I'll be sticking a new battery in my very old Accurist instead
Unfortunately, plumbers like to be paid with currency when they install new central heating systems in your house, so I'll have to use mine for that instead of shiny things!

I've sent Christoper Ward an email to ask them if I was to tick the "Add engraving" option for £30 can they swap the Intelligent Money logo for a Rolex one. Still waiting to hear back..
I am pretty sure that shouldn't be on there as each watch is hand engraved 001 though to 100 for the edition. Is this the sort of look you are after mate, or have I misunderstood..?
