Works fine for me too, but I am having it checked out.

It does sound like a browser issue, but we want to make sure there is nothing our end.

Thanks for letting me know!

Two questions for Julian

how do you know Nick Burnham? smile

Also, my employer pension scheme is with RL. Their balanced retirement investment strategy puts all contributions into one fund; their UK Equity one. Seems like a lot of eggs in one basket to me - is that normal?

I noted a banner at the top of the account screen regarding rebalancing of funds and unavailability but this has now gone. Is this still going ahead?

You sell some of the stuff that has done well and buy more of the stuff that hasn't, so the fund stays within its objectives.

Scrape off the hills to fill the hollows, as it were.

I think Fidelity offer an auto-rebalance facility but I haven't tried it.

Nick and I are just mates with similar interests. smile

Yes, everything in UK equities means you are covering just c. 4% of global equity markets. They will have other options (this is likely to be the default one) and I would be happy to talk you through these.

Cheers

John (Simpo Two) got it spot on.

Let's say you had 10% exposure to one market/stock/bond and this was part of the objective of your portfolio.

If that 10% grew or fell by 5% your portfolio would now not be meeting its objective as you would now be overweight or underweight in that sector.

Rebalancing is simply putting thing back to how the were supposed to be.

We rebalance our portfolios every quarter (though sometime we do this more frequently or less frequently, as market conditions change) and all this means is we sell down gains to make discounted purchases of other holdings, in order to keep everything aligned to the original purpose.

If you want a chat about this just PM me.
