I think I am going to look to move my current work pension which is with Standard Life - it's a group/company set-up one I think. If I wanted to move this with the last payment being at the end of January, I guess I'd better start asking SL now ... (bearing how long they seem to take).
Please remember that you will lose any employer contributions if this is your current work pension. We will also handle all aspects of the transfer for you if you decide to go ahead, so you don't need to contact SL at all.
I would have a chat with Nik before doing anything though (nik.burrows@intelligentmoney.com) as you really don't want to lose the employer contributions.
Cheers
Julian

I'm certainly not averse to it happening, if I'm honest. So what's the procedure? Can SL be flagged up (by IM) to transfer it over (to IM) post-January?
Glad to hear! Yes, you just go online and open the account, putting in the transfer details. We do the rest.
Whilst there have been some horror stories here about them, SL are generally pretty quick.
Have a chat with Nik if you would like more information and he can talk you though your options with IM and others.
Cheers

Hi Julian, Nick and co.
My mother has finally seen the light and I've just guided her through applying for a S&S ISA and got her logged in to the portal. She received some money from a pension and has other cash savings scattered about that she's now decided to invest.
Happy days!

Great to hear! Nik and I will always be available to assist her (well I won't be on Sunday as I am doing a Sky interview at Silverstone with Jenson, but PH 1st world problems, hey!).
Cheers

We had a small problem trying to transfer some cash from Nationwide actually. They blocked the transfer as they couldn't see any link between yourselves and Metro Bank... Mum's had to ring them back and ask them to unblock the transaction as we know it's ok. Hopefully the money will show at your end on Monday instead of yesterday!
