Given that he appears to be calling for the US govt to "stockpile" bitcoin, the bitcoin boosters will love this.https://twitter.com/JasonPLowery/status/1624768897...
Given btc's volatility, that would be a potentially costly exercise for the govt.
I'll wait and see if he has anything of merit to say, but I'm not holding my breath.
Why would the US government want or need to guarantee the security of bitcoin?
It’s not their currency, it’s generally used as a tool to avoid taxes / break the law..
Anyway, I thought your big vision was no governments, no third parties, totally self regulating? Why is a Russian mining farm scary when having so many Chinese farms isn’t? After all, they’re in china, the communist party could just take them…

In short, game theory. It’s not their currency, it’s generally used as a tool to avoid taxes / break the law..

For the same reason that central banks are stockpiling gold at a huge rate. It’s not their currency, it’s generally used as a tool to avoid taxes / break the law..

And the tax avoidance / law breaking meme is so 2013

Stability in uncertain times?
Apologies i misread your post. Didnt realise it was regarding the spooks thesis. Re; Lowreys thesis. Still not sure what to make of it. There's definitely an argument for most, if not all, central banks to hold a portion of reserves in Bitcoin the same as the argument is for holding a portion of reserves in Gold.

Pretty sure his thesis focuses on bitcoin as a tool for national security, so it goes quite bit beyond the typical 'allocate a portion of X' investment pragmatism.Re; Lowreys thesis. Looks like the better strategy is to encourage the other side into investing a load of cash and effort into it while doing very little yourself, then neutralise the lot by making it unusable for anything.
It'd be fairly trivial to render the entirety of any investment in Bitcoin worthless.

How do you make it unusable? It'd be fairly trivial to render the entirety of any investment in Bitcoin worthless.
Anyway, price action aside. Been enjoying the following Apps
Fountain - earning Sats for listening to podcasts and clips
Nostr - (Damus app on IoS or Amethyst on Android) which is a DiD decentralised social media built on Lightning with integrated tipping. Fully decentralised and anonymous. Anyone can run a Nostr node alongside a Lightning or Bitcoin node
Tweetoshi - Lightning native Twitter app, unfortunately a bit buggy on OxygenOS but hoping it will be better soon
BTCmap is coming on leaps and bounds in the amount of businesses registered.
And for fun, Club Bitcoin which is a Solitaire game that you earn Sats for playing (and accepting that their is adverts).
