What are peoples views on UKOG. I bought at 1.77 and trading in and out and still hold now at almost 9p. But, ive placed a stop loss at 8.2 so the slightest retrace and I sell the lot.

Is this a classic AIM pump and dump? Oil is there but no idea if it can even get to it
I'm still in there at the moment and in a similar position to you, albeit have been in and out a few times (at the right times for once!!) so my average buy price is shown as higher than yours (2.6p). I've just set a stop at 7.8p to give me a nice round figure return, I'm sure it will be triggered in the next couple of days.

I'm still very positive about the company, what they're doing and what they will achieve, but to believe that an uplift like this on nothing more than sentiment and optimism will continue would be misguided IMHO. My 'game plan' (if you can have one on an AIM oiler!) is to just sit and watch with a pretty flexible stop in place as a safety net.

Fortunately I'm on nights this week and am staying in a hotel away from home, so have all day to sit in my pants watching the price fluctuate and can act pretty quickly. I believe at the moment that, if you're not in a position to respond quickly to UKOG, a tight stop is absolutely vital.
I'm going to be watching very closely over the next few days too. Surely this can't continue? But then if good news has leaked maybe it can. Over 120% up at the mo, risk free too. I'd like to turn magic money in to real money though!
WTF just happened there?!? Went to the shops and they went up to a shade over 11p! My stop got triggered at 7.71p though, but I can't see that it dropped that low?
Massive spike and then retrace! It was all over the place this afternoon. Glad I can't set stops on my trading platform or I'd have been out. Still up 105% as it stands.

Im completely out of UKOG now. Been trading most of the day so lucky to be able to watch the prices
As the price increased I cancelled and reset my stop loss from
7,to 10p

It hit 11p buy before retracing and my stop got executed. Very happy as it then retraced to the 7s!

I've been watching Cap-xx (cpx) for some time and looks like they've had the re rate they deserve of late... Very interesting technology and there is a lot of buzz about the tech they hold a lot of patents about in my industry. Could also be a big beneficiary of the auto industries move to electric in the years to come. Why is it all the shares I pick to watch but don't buy go up and all the ones i invest in just meander along?

For the smaller players, meaning the odd couple of £k speculative punting, I presume you are using on line trading for your dealings, can I ask what platform are you using and why? I'm considering iWeb at present, in the S&S ISA wrapper. I like the idea of HL et al but their charges seem to be a bit rich for smaller investors?

Anyone holding INDV? They specialize in making a drug that helps to combat opiode dependence and announce results 27th July, certain areas of the us are in the grip of prescription and heroine misuse epidemics and sadly INDV look to be well positioned to take advantage, especially if Trumps rehash of Obama care continues to support people...

Stick it on the watch list.
Did anyone take any notice of this? A nice piece of profit last 2 days. I think I'll hold onto to a chunk as well.

Based on what? Seen my paper profit greatly diminish today after being 120% up. Last time it retraced from 4.1 and I sold before long it was bouncing to the recent highs and I would have been far better off holding. Could take out a chunk more profit before it disappears but I wasn't expecting it to reach the 3's again?

Based on it being a penny stock oil and gas driller that's been ramped, like sound, ascent, 88E etc... If UK onshore oil was not commercially viable when oil was touching $100 its not going to now oil is worth less than half that much and will be for the foreseeable.

Add to that environmental protest which will add massive costs to any already commercial unviable venture and the chances are the share will now be shorted to feckery.

That's just what I think though, and I'm a bit of an idiot. Best of luck.

How long is a piece of string. The loss was due to disappointing early test results for their new cancer drug. Will they get the drug right and what of the others in the pipeline? It's a risk hence the drop in value. Also some of their existing drugs are coming off of patent.

I'm still showing a profit on AZN as I bought them a long time ago but I have put a stop loss in place.

Indeed, it was a rhetorical question!

Talk of possibility they'll become a takeover target...

I've bought a small number ... jic.... because long term I cannot see them being s bad place to be. Cf BP - buy good stock cheap!

I was working at the bank that floated these at the time. Everyone was saying how impressed they were, kicking myself I didn't ask for permission to get some at the time.

Still, I got in to Asos near the beginning, so caught one unicorn which I count myself thankful for.
