Horsebox! haha that is just blatant.

It is a sad fact that you can be good to people and many will still take advantage given the opportunity.I am glad to be out of it ,employees can be like naughty children without the good bits.

As we approach the end of the tax year was reminded of another one my tight in-law does,

He’s a higher rate tax payer & like many of us declares charitable gift aid donations to get the tax back, however he discovered that certain charity shops accept items given & will track the value of what your donations sold for & give you a letter to claim back the higher tax on that “donation” (it’s win win as they get the basic rate - why they do it).
Needless to say he doesn’t throw anything out or put it in a textile bank now.

My mum used to steam unfranked stamps from envelopes for re-use. I'd come in from school to find the kitchen full of steam and mum with a blithe expression, happy in the knowledge she was contributing to the family exchequer. The electricity bill was picked up by dad and never questioned.
