Interested in diversifying my portfolio with gold & silver as a hedge against financial markets. Any recommendations on how and what exactly to buy would be appreciated. Ult-Jim.

Thanks for the links. Researching further and a good way to avoid vat on buying physical gold, has anyone used BullionVault or Goldmoney for trading gold and silver online, even when considering the counter party risk?

Correct but CGT is I believe if the gold is in coins that ARE legal tender in the UK, ie sovereigns. Krugerrands, for example, would attract CGT.
