What should be on my credit report?

I was recently turned down for a loan due to my credit report; I found this odd as I've never missed a payment on anything (a few a day late perhaps). I've checked my credit report and found it to be a mess, with several issues such as:

• only showing one bank account out of 3 (the one due to be shut soon)
• neither of my credit cards showing up
• apparently not being on the electoral role

Apart from these problems, what should my credit report show? I was thinking maybe contracts with mobile providers and utility suppliers. On a side note I also seem to have a lot of linked addressees - is this a bad thing? And how does it classify those late payments?
