tenants renting property connected to main house, they moved in circa 30 days ago. young couple.

main house for sale. estate agent shows potential buyer round and discovers pretty commercial set up in the spare bedroom, lights, hydro, multiple plants etc. obviously not great viewing for the buyer.

what do you do..

Steel all the equipment, stick it on Ebay, dispose of the plants as you see fit, deny everything.

Sit tight. Could still be anywhere between 30-50 more days before it's ready to harvest.

I suppose "sample the goods and negotiate a price" isn't an option here?

Invite them to a meeting in the landlords house.

Give them 2 options:

1) Clear it out within 24 hours and nothing more will be said

2) If they don't, the police will be called and then a section 8? (I'm not a a lawyer so check first on the latter) - I assume growing drugs would be a material breach of the tenancy agreement?

that was my thoughts too. although option 1) 48 hours to leave the property and terminate the ast.

not the best option as the police come, take away the plants, question them etc. released on bail. then they are back in your cottage and only one person who could have snitched on you.

Is the rent all inclusive? As the utility bills will be higher than expected!

You should follow the AST process.

Or you might find yourself on the side of "we've done nothing wrong, what plants?" and a Court that refuses the Section 8?

Needs to be a negotiation.

I'm not sure how dressing as a woman will be of any use in this situation, but set yourself free!
