I've tried searing for the fly thread thats really long with recommendations in for fly zappers couldn't find it. What is a good quality fly zapper to buy? I did get one of the amazon ones recommended on the other thread but it was total rubbish probably ok for mosquitos but not powerful enough for flies.
Cheers

I’ve got an executioner branded one which blows the wings off wasps. It’s a few years old and I wouldn’t doubt the new ones have been turned down.

This. The Executioner Pro.
Assuming you’re after a handheld of course..

I bought this "Executioner Pro" in 2018 and it's still going strong on the same battery. It lives behind the sofa until needed. Can't fault it..........

There are a few power mods on Youtube if you're handy with a soldering iron!

Id have preferred the stationary ones. Getting up for each fly seems like hard work?

They're much of a muchness TBH, UV light and a zappy grid of doom. Nothing more satisfying than some annoying fly buzzing all around then BZZZZZZZZZD

We live by fields so will get the standard issue three flies in the kitchen plus the occasional blue bottle.

These cheap toys are the best solution I've found plus they appeal to one's inner child.

Our kitchen is very long and when a bluebottle comes in they will mostly just fly up and down the length of it so one of those zapper rackets is a very entertaining way to get them and for practicing one's backhand.

We have two Executioners. Both several years old. No issues. Second set of batteries as they went from execute to annoy one year. Not what you need with wasps. laugh

Yeh do the uv lights attract them good enough or is that why everyone seems to have the tennis racket ones?

The UV does attract them but works better as natural light levels start to fade. We have one from either TLC or Nisbets that sits on top of a kitchen cabinet and comes on via a timer for an hour or two around dusk.

Like said dark corners are better; I've heard UV may wear off in time so refresh lamps after a few years.

Tennis rackets I think are just for Derek from accounts roleplaying Rambo III

Bought the aspectek one of amazon. Its been doing the business. Not had many big flies around but it has did get 1 and went off with a right few bangs. The other flies have just been small mosquito sized ones but it gives them a good old zap too. I might put on a timer plug when weather gets warmer just to come on overnight.

The problem with the powerful wall mounted ones is you end up with a disease-ridden debris field in the kitchen, which is not a good place for that sort of thing.

Took my racquet on the Norfolk Broads once as my daughter freaks if she sees just one little critter.

Every evening it was like a miniature battle over the Death Star with tiny explosions, flashes of blue light and floating debris fields.
