The one next door to the family room has Dr Hannibal Lector in residence.

ha.
The obsession with glass walls extends to the cupboard under the stairs. It's walled off like a cupboard, but you can see all the junk inside! Except the hoover etc is just not as accessible as it would had there been no wall.
Pure comedy

Or the "naughty step".

I think that place will look a lot better once there is some furniture, rugs and artwork in place to soften the appearance.

Bit of a nightmare with children and finger prints / drunken guests walking into stuff.

Another one squeezing a new build into part of a previous house's garden.

All the garden it has is to the front, so little or no windows on the rear. Marble floors everywhere. And this glass walled room with a tiny high up window is called on the map "dining room".

Now I don't mind modern style (grand design) properties with large glass wall windows but this is just half hearted and really rather sad, looks more like a modern house from the 1970s. Stonework on the outside is nice, that's about it. It is in a fantastic location though.

Another room with a glass internal wall, called "family room" on the plan and is next to the dining room.

Ps. More internal glass walls, this time from the dining room into the breakfast room at the front, due to the poor light at the rear.
This one is bonkers, I thought that first photo was a squash court! Then the 'family room next to the 'dining room'. These rooms look like they should be inhabited by the elephant man and chums for observation by a paying audience.
Looking at all the pictures - I like the house - great location and views out, I like the interior. Big rooms most with great views some internal rooms which I think are fine. Sorry but its rather nice smile

Nightmare is a tad unfair, but when compared to other properties in the town, it is fairly steep, however, I have no doubt it will sell quickly. It was formerly three garages.

The left side resembles the former garage building in terms of brickwork, height, etc - might have been forced upon them by planning/neighbours.

I can't find an after picture, but someone's built an extra house on the end of this terrace which is the width of the parking spaces that where previously there:

The trouble is that within a year you will start to see matt pathways in that soft marble and have become very bored of taking your children to A&E with head injuries. biggrin

LOL at that first one what a shameful piece of st. Typical of modern builds. Seems the acceptable standard these days.

I went to see a few houses in 2015 one of which was in Pirbright surrey near the White hart. I believe an old garage or something had been purchased for development. It would have fit 1 nice big house on it, 2 would have been an acceptable squeeze.

I st you not they built 4 or 5 on the plot and they were fking tiny. Worked out with a sofa in the living room we would have had 2 foot between a sofa and the fire/wall. I wouldn't have actually been able to get my car into the car port as it was shared with someone else and I tried to park in it but couldnt becuse there was no room, however there was a car port round front away from everyone else which was also tiny. Probably had ground rent as well.

People get taken in by the painted walls and shiny new kitchens with laminate flooring I think.

The anti-pawn thread.

As good as any to start with - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

What the hell is that, and for half a million !!!!

Squeezed into a tiny space, being built - https://www.google.com/maps/@51.7933914,-0.6659818...

Place before it was built - https://www.google.com/maps/@51.7933906,-0.6659667...
SOLD!

Would be interested to find out how close to the asking it got.

TBH I am an interested party as we live in a extended, nice, village based (3miles from this) Semi so it is only good for our value.

I never get why someone would buy a nice house with a large garden then ruin it by building a monstrosity in the garden and sell it to someone you don't know and will probably have problems with when you realise what you've done just to live mortgage free . homes under the hammer and Sahara been have a lot to answer for !
