Fermit isn't an attention wh0re imo. He just comes across as a nice enough chap who is just guilty of oversharing much to his detriment.

The minefield of troll traps he navigates through poorly is hilarious but the name calling ruins it.

You should be asking for this thread to be closed based on your opening post, it's gone way off thread smile
The sensible way for the OP to conclude the original thread would have been to ask the mods to allow him to reopen it and add the update before closing it again. Job done. But he wanted more than to simply tie up the loose end, and unfortunately Equus can’t help himself.

I am done responding to trolls (that's me being well mannered) on this thread, G3org3y - hope that's right - and black_S3) your kindness is noted, and appreciated. And George, sometimes sharing, for me, is cathartic. I don't have many vent avenues, for want of more.

PH is largely a community of good people, IM honest O. As with real life, empty vessels make the most noise. I just need to ignore them. and If too much then walk, accepted.

It was a glorious day yesterday and yet some of you ( judging by the number of posts you contributed to on this thread) must have been sat in front of the computer all day long arguing with people you don’t even know!

What a sad life you must lead.

Modern tech means that you can argue with people that you dont know from wherever you like.

I don't understand why you don't ignore people.
Pretend there is a block function and scroll past their posts.

Instead, you engage and make what should be a page or two thread into 10 pages, of people writing a sentence or two luring you into writing a full essay on justifying something.

Ignore and keep your blood pressure levels low beer

I didn't post much yesterday, as has been pointed out it was a lovely day.

So I found a hornets nest instead, and spent the afternoon poking it with a stick.

I actually didn't spot that, until it was pointed out. I'd have been here earlier, if I had. boxedin

In my defence, I'm willing to bet that a higher percentage of my posts on this thread have been on-topic, about the actual Planning matters involved, than anyone else's.

In those terms - for anyone actually interested in Planning - the conclusion to this part of the story hasn't happened yet. We haven't seen the refusal notice or the Officer Report, so we don't yet properly understand the reasons for the refusal.

On the basis of what Fermit told us in his first post, and the application documentation I've looked at online, though, I would be willing to put money on the fact that I could turn the refusal around with a revised application, if the neighbour let me. I may well drop him a line, asking if he wants me to do so on a 'no win, no fee' basis, just out of professional interest. smile

ETA:

BTW, Fermit, look up the word 'grammar' in a dictionary, then look up the word 'spelling'. You seem to be repeatedly confusing the two.

Not really.

The patio doors were never brilliant (and are a crap idea as main access doors, anyway), but then the applicant fked up by submitting revised plans, changing the proposed construction from brick to vertical timber cladding (which is out of character with the terrace).

It's easily sorted, if the applicant wants to - hell, from Fermit's OP, he's suggesting that they're even quite happy to accept UPVC, which is normally anathema to Planners, except on the sttiest of characterless stboxes. smile

Snipping my post removes all the relevance and is pointless and meaningless.

To answer the one point I have left in above - go back and read both my posts on this thread in full and then (perhaps) you'll understand.

a bit O/T, so I stand by the point that I'll not be continuing to enter in the main debate. I'm a little disappointed at the position you took later on yesterday. I DID quickly read your well considered post, but contrary to what is being suggested by some I spent a total of maybe 20 minutes on PH yesterday (until 9.30pm ish) as it was a busy day for my wife and I.

I also gave you the courtesy of a reply to this intent.

Accordingly, I genuinely intended to re-visit it, when I had the time to reflect on it properly. IE, no, you weren't ignored.
