My mate who is project managing the whole thing is a carpenter by trade so he designed it then got it built by....er....some place and then it arrived mostly built.

Wow coming along very nicely, when do you move back in if not already?

We've been back in for a couple of weeks now, but in a makeshift living room in one of the bedrooms. We'll move back downstairs this weekend, kitchen worktop arrives on Monday, underfloor heating will be switched on Monday, and hopefully all the other little bits that need doing early next week too! So all of a sudden we're nearly there. Then we can enjoy it for a bit before turning our attention to upstairs!

I love these where all of a sudden it all comes together, or looks like it has!

Very nice!

Yeah, it's bizarre. A week ago it looked AGES away from being liveable, suddenly POW it's almost a show home haha.

Quartz of some sort. We got it separately from the kitchen company from a guy/company recommended by our underfloor heating man. Looks damn good, although didn't overly enjoy the fact they were cutting bits up until about 9pm in the garden making a bit of a noise! Hopefully that's the first and only time there will be power tool noise coming from our renovation after 6pm.

This stuff: https://www.quick-step.co.uk/en-gb/laminate/impres...

It looks great......but to be totally honest it does creak a little bit when walking over it in places....maybe it just needs time to settle?

Never used the click together stuff so not sure if it will settle, we're looking for a glue down version with a similar colour for our hallway and study. Having had the UFH boards lifting previously with their associated creak and click, any noise would make me paranoid so probably best we stick with the glued stuff biglaugh

Haha yeah I can imagine any noise will make you paranoid!
I guess I can't complain, as it looks awesome and is a world away from the mess we first moved into, I just would have thought with all the self levelling etc, we were meant to have a perfectly flat, creak-free floor.
