Let’s take things a step further with an island off the Mull of Kintyre. Actually three islands. The house may be a letdown though.

I sail past Sanda quite a lot (next Wednesday being the next time I do), the island has had a checkered history over the past 10 years...https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/147226181

The owner of Sanda is not shy at splashing his cash, here's his family home (since sold)...

I'd buy it, restore all the little cottages, give them away free and form a cult!
I would become Lord Summerisle overnight!!
It's absolutely awesome that is.

Don't think we've had this one. Seems very good value for location, plot and buildings...

I think that this is great, but needs a lot of money spending on it to bring it up to the standards of the current decade. https://www.jackson-stops.co.uk/properties/1843323...
It’s the sort of place that 35 years ago would have been bought by a musician that had played on a couple of successful albums, but not someone that would be a household name, as the lead singer died. These days those people just don’t exist.
It’s a lovely location - I’m sure someone will fall in love with it and put their own stamp on it, but it isn’t a dream house for a lot of people.

I dont really understand this point? Iit has electricity, central heating (presumably under floor downstairs as i cant see any radiators), and looks well cared for. The windows look a bit of an unknown, granted, but i fail to see what standards its failing on? The interior isn't my taste, but it does suit the character of the property, and is somewhat more sympathetic than ripping everything out and painting it grey. Some nice views but also probably a bit too isolated

Quite pleasant for Surrey Hills save for a bit of updating, and not totally removed from civilisation. You’d have to like cyclists though.

Nice (if you don’t mind being close to Colchester):

Another one on chapel lane that I didn't even know was there despite cycling up/down there many many times (there was a gothic looking place that I think you posted a year or 2 back). I do like it, but unfortunately I don't think I'd be able to afford the curtain bill so I'm out Quite pleasant for Surrey Hills save for a bit of updating, and not totally removed from civilisation. And looking at the brochure, they just had to mention it!
From the Brochure said:
'It is a playground for young and old alike: a particularly special memory of our time here is of my father walking 100 laps of the garden to raise a record-breaking sum of almost £40million for NHS charities during the pandemic!'

But far too isolated and not worth £1m in my eyes.
