I think there's another part of the array on the top of the flat roof section - the 2036 contract refers to the guaranteed FIT agreement I believe - so a positive rather than negative.

If ever an era of housebuilding & furnishing needs to be erased from history, it's the 70's. Just no redeeming features whatsoever.

Never mind the decor, where's the kitchen?

It may not have been updated since the late 70's but I'm told this is "Norfolk-chic"

Norfolk-in-Chance!
Now that is seriously cool. Hope it doesn’t get modernised too much and is updated sympathetically.

(I like 60s-70s stuff)

At 2.3x1.75 metres (from the floor plan) I doubt they wanted to highlight a requirement for reconfiguration.

Normally the redeeming features are decent sized gardens and large rooms. Architecturally there are some interesting designs, but they're few and far between.

(As someone who lives in a mid 60s carbuncle I can honestly say I prefer where I live to the new, more expensive executive houses on the local new estate)

All it needs is a new kitchen and bathrooms, new radiators, new front door and an interior designer with new furnishings (although there are some period-correct, lovely armchairs there). The living space ceiling with its uplighting from the tie beams and the variety of window cills are highlights for me...

Otherwise it's a great, solid house. I wouldn't be surprised if someone does the above and sticks it straight back on here: https://www.themodernhouse.com/ - with a suitable uplift, of course... wink

Yep my parents ended up in a 70’s build in the Cotswolds, having been adamant that only period would do. But none of the idiosyncratic issues of a 18th century place, and decent sized garden and rooms vs any thing built recently. It was purpose built for 3 sisters living together who were reasonably well off, construction quality is good.

Such potential though! Wish I wasn't so tied to Edinburgh and it's higher house prices...

Pic 13 makes it look like an HMO
And for someone who seems to paint(pic 3), the colour pallet doesnt seem that great

There's a house from that period here in Melbourne that's been given a serious facelift. Here's the before.

That looks like a reasonably sympathetic makeover.

(we've also gone for dark window/door frames on ours, dark grey fascia etc)

The standard of written English in that advert is rather poor.not that mine is any better but i do not write professionally.

Indeed, their other listings are equally as bad... https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/prope...

"Accommodation boasts of a rare 4 double sized bedrooms over 2 floors"

And the next line

"1 double on the ground floor, 2 doubles on the first floor and a double attic bedroom with an ensuite master bedroom. "

So make up your mind, is it over two or three floors?

and don't forget, 'The property is in excellent condition', then look at the 2 pictures. scratchchin

Why is it that student let 'investment opportunities' always seem to be located in a 'golden triangle'?

This one is appalling in so many respects, I just don’t know where to start with it. It is actually being promoted heavily by Zoopla on Facebook and being described as a “magnificent house”.
